I hope it's OK to start a new thread - I suspect many of us don't read everything unless it's marked as 'new' - - these are some extended comments from Brad on his appointment:

The takeaway points seem to be that Brad is a highly intelligent and sensitive guy, who won't come to the Scarlets to re-invent the wheel - he's keen to work with the present assistant coaches. He is knowledgable and respectful of the Scarlets' history, and is also keen to follow the path of other very successful Kiwi coaches in Wales (Henry, Hansen, Gatland, Pivac). So, he sounds like an up-and-coming guy who has ambitions to coach at test level - just the sort of ambitious, clever and hard working guy we need to follow Pivac.

I'm very encouraged... he can certainly talk the talk, let's hope he also succeeds in walking the walk!

He's saying all the right things which is encouraging.  I also read somewhere that he and his family were looking forward to settling in West Wales which shouldn't be underestimated either.

good interview, some key quotes in there give me confidence in the forward plan and next step for the region..

I did my due diligence on the club and the people, its aspirations and its provisions to chase those aspirations.“Most teams want to win but have they got the off-field structure, resource, provision and leadership in place to be able to drive through towards those aspirations. That was a massive part of the decision making that made Scarlets a really attractive proposition for myself and my wife

I want a really balanced side and a side that’s able to dominate at set pieces to get great ball and also spoil the oppositions ball. I also want a back-line that’s able to play multiple game-plan’s and execute the opportunities that come up.

Intelligent and well thought through interview - what you would expect from a qualified Barrister. Dominate set pieces is what I like and is also where he will have to recruit to be able to achieve. If he lives in West Wales that will be a great bonus as Pivac does. He will really get a feel for what the club means to its supporters by living locally not trucking in from Cardiff Bay every day.

Also he talks like a winner - he says he has not been brought to a rebuild project which suggest that he realises his task is to take us to the next level - becoming serial winners like our friends in Dublin. All good so far!!!

Out of interest, and answer genuinely, but where do you see West Wales starting?

Neath, Swansea, the Gower, Llanelli or further west? Always been west of the Loughor for me!

This idea that West Wales is only West of the river Lougher has shaken me to the core!!!!

My comment regarding West Wales really wasn't well thought out. !!!! I understand that Pivac lives in Llanelli & is always very approachable to fans when out in the town.

The LLWCHWR is really a tributary of the AMAN not the other way round, and to say that West Wales starts on the west bank of the Llwchwr deprives the good people of Cwm Aman of their glorious West Wales heritage. I would go further and claim that the former mining villages at the upper end of Cwm Tawe are also West Walian. It would take a brave man to classify the fine people of Cwmllynfell, GCG etc as East Walians.

As an Ammanford boy originally I'm certainly not that brave!!!!!! When I was young and started courting it was deemed an act of extreme bravery to take a young lady to the cinema in Brynamman for anyone from Ammanford. Those were the days!!!!!

One of the reasons I love Wales; you can go 100 yards across a bridge (not Pont Hafren btw) and be in a totally different land.

it is interesting - but I was surprised that players nowadays receive incentives for head tackles:

"Jake Ball, who left the pitch last week after being on the receiving end of a dangerous tackle that saw Prop, Allan receive a red car, "

I might have had enough to start a taxi firm, back in the day!LOL
