With a bit of luck we'll have Boyde, Mcleod, Cubby, Patchell back during the 6N. Possibly Blade too

won't blade be with Scotland?

Noticeably Edinburgh last 5 games are much harder than ours.

Thanks for this - I ran my scenarios and we end up second (agreeing with getting zip in Leinster and only a point at Cardiff).

We can beat Benneton imo, both teams will be depleted....

That’s unfair, hardly a nail biter was it. Referreed properly they would have had three yellows scrum time. We were unlucky not to get a bp

Let's hope the Edinbutgh will have their eye on a Champions Cup QF. They currently head their group 4 pts ahead of Montpelier who still have to travel to Edinburgh which is becoming a difficlut place to win. Thye may therefore field a weakened side against us. Not sure they have the squad to fight on both fronts.

If Leinster are top of the conference going into the final weekend and can't be caught, can you really see them going to Ulster and beating them? Not that i'm suggesting this league is corrupt in any way...

Lets be honest about it - it has nothing to do with both being Irish provinces. Leinster will be guaranteed by then a home semi. They will, in all probability, also be in the final stages of Europe. Why would they risk top line players in that game? We didn't risk our lads against Edinburgh in similar circumstances last season.

Clearly it's going to come down to the Edinburgh / Benetton games as the pivot for our qualification.

Indeed both big games. Edinburgh may well have a quarter final Champions Cup on their minds around then which may or may not help. Hopefully we can be fully loaded for that game. The Benetton one is different as it comes in the 6 nations. It is a rest weekend for the Internationals so our chances of release will a little better. Rhys and Jake are scheduled to play against Leinster in late January so may well be called into Gatlands squad but will probably be unlikely to feature in the first two games.

That is my concern. Connor O'Shea may want to get Benetton into the Champions Cup, and so may release a few from the Italian squad. Gatland may however have his eye on RWC and keep hold of the Welsh players.

Don't forget that we got nowt in Benetton last year. Our 23 that day contained 9 that played in the PRO12 final. They on the other hand were scraping around the local leagues for a side ! They went into the game in damage limitation mode, and came away with a BP win against us.

I've run loads of scenarios on that excel spreadsheet and I can't for the life of me get us below 3rd place.
