I'm surprised that Eddie has gone for Daly at FB in Dublin where its likely to be trail by high balls

Spot on there. In fact England's back 3 are not great under the high ball & Daly is pretty dodgy defensively. There is a good reason why Halfpenny is Gatland's go to FB. I have already said it - I don't rate this England team much. Front 5 is OK but not frighteningly so, back row is pretty average. Tuilagi is dangerous - will be interesting contest between him & Aki/Henshaw. Ireland all day long for me.

Agreed, and the back row could (if injuries happen in the game) be Lawes, Hughes & Billy!!!

There is talk of Henshaw playing at 15 for Ireland. Clearly Dan Davis didn't do Kearney any favours last weekend!!!!

Dan was superb but Kearney is very good under the high ball to be fair, I expect him to start at 15.

I think Johnny May answered any questions about England under the high ball, he was superb, indeed the back 3 played well.

Yes, great win for England, puts greater emphasis on the game against them in round 3 (if ever there was a need for more emphasis on a match against the old enemy.
They had a very simple gameplan and executed it brilliantly. Go open early on, get ahead and then turn the Irish at every opportunity. 3 tried came from poor Irish play in and around their own 22, when they were being put under immense pressure by an English team that tackled anything that moved. It was great to see Sexton getting frustrated and not getting anything from the referee. It annoys me that he often gets an armchair ride with some referees. |

Lot of rugby to play, but Wales v England could be quite a decisive game(as usual).

Well done Scarletnut for that prediction. I certainly didn't see that coming. Huge improvement from that England team. Their defence was outstanding & they slowed Irish ball down very effectively. The very inexperienced pair of Wilson & Curry were excellent. England will look to bully every other team from now on so we have been warned.
I thought May was close to MOM - he dealt with everything that came his way. Sexton had one of his worst games in a while and it was very sobering to see Stockdale struggle a little defensively.

It’s been confirmed that Maro Itoje will miss the rest of the 6 nations after suffering Medial ligament damage in the win against Ireland.
