Huge news just announced - Mako Vunipola out of the 6 nations. Big big loss for England to lose the best all round loose head in World rugby.

He's always been a handful as a carrier - in the past, his scrummaging was poor. I don't know if that has improved a lot? Maybe it has.

So they're without their most mobile, athletic second row and also most effective carrier. Starting to make up for our loss of Faletau, Scott Williams and Webb own goal.

WALES
Leigh Halfpenny is back in training and available for selection against England on Sat 23 Feb, although Scott Williams has been released from the squad due to his injury.
Halfpenny, Rhys Patchell (now also declared fit) and Steff Evans have been released back to Scarlets for selection away to Benetton Rugby on Sat 16 Feb, while Cardiff Blues back rowers Seb Davies and Josh Turnbull and outside-half Jarrod Evans will also be released for their home game against Glasgow on Saturday. ENGLAND Joe Cokanasiga, Dan Cole, Dan Robson and Mike Brown are among those released by England to play for their clubs in the Premiership this weekend. They have been left out of Eddie Jones' 25-man training squad for a camp this week before next Saturday's Six Nations match with Wales. Centres Ben Te'o and Ollie Devoto have been included, as have props Harry Williams and Ben Moon. Injured Maro Itoje and Dylan Hartley will remain in the England camp. |

Ellis Genge is more than a capable replacement for him, Genge is a better scrummager and now he's got his temper under control, just as useful round the park, he has the ability to go round defenders and can pass.Shame he and Itoje are injured, but their replacements are just as good.

It's about experience as well though TB. Genge is a possible future Lion. But the prospect of starting at the Principality Stadium in a Wal v Eng game has to be taken into consideration for a 23 year old with 5 caps. |

Genge & Lawes are good rugby players but they are not in the same league as Vunipola & Itoje.

One thing we need to do is find a way to niggle both Sinkler and Genge, both are prone to something stupid if they lose their head.

True, Sinckler nearly lost the Lions the 2nd Test (?) last tour when he reacted badly to a tackle. Thankfully someone got to him to drag him away. the resulting pen won the match.

Don't think winding either of those two up is too difficult an ask.

lets see how well england do against a team with an actual full back lol
Heres a few highights from their hammering by the scots last year....the scots cleaned them out at the breakdown, mauled them backwards and cut them to ribbons in the backs with some great passing and hard running....The english were very vulnerable to chips behind too. Theyve chopped and changed a lot since then. But they lost 7 out of 15 matches, so forgive me if I dont join the chorus that theyre suddenly world beaters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8AYtT2gIBw

as for ire v eng heres the tries
try 1 - the entire riish back line rushes up for no reason , leaving henshaw on his own , a man who is not even a centre try 2....stockbale makes a right mess of it and fails to simply put the ball down try 3 given oceans of space they sling 2 nice flat passes to the wing his kicks ahead and they win the foot race against a full back who is out of position try 4. sexton lost the plot gives away the easiest try in history https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlVz6FN1ODA
