Instead the Blues would be home as they are next with higher points.

The rules state there is a play off. That’s what will happen if the Ospreys go through.

Technically they’ve abided by the rules based on points. They did it last season too. The play offs went on points regarding home and away. They abided by the same European cup rules as last year. The eff up is that there’s conferences.

Worst thing to happen to the league and that’s the thing. It’s recognised as a league. Not conferences and leagues go on points regardless of what teams they play and if it’s fair. Next season it’ll be different based on finishing positions this season. [/QUOT

If that's the case, Ospreys should be playing the Blues in the playoff as we are below both of them pointswise.🤔

Rules state in each conference. If you go on the sites and read the rules it makes perfect sense. Unfortunately for us.

If the total points dictates who plays whom in whatever games, why is it that the top three from each conference go through to the play offs at the end of the season? Shouldn’t it be the highest placed six teams regardless of what conference they come from? Sounds like two systems dictating end of season games in one league.
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

True. That’s what the rules say on the website. Nothing the Scarlets can do about it.

It’s only the Blues or indeed the Ospreys not Leinster away .If we cannot beat them we don’t deserve to be in the EC

I think the Scarlets would fancy beating the Blues in a play-off. With key personnel back they’d have an edge up front .
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

I think the players would rather get it over with on the 18th, so I’m cheering for Sarries
We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

Steff, even if we get them all back fit and firing they haven't played together for an eternity,to date our departing coaches have shown time and again they have failed to prepare a team for a crucial game.

11 wins from 29 games isn’t the best, injuries or not.

There's no mention of what happens if an 8th place becomes available in the rules which means they're making it up as they go along. The logical answer is play the playoff and the winner goes through. If an extra place becomes available the loser goes through. This is a farce.

It’s in the champions cup rules which the PRO14 follows. The highest rank qualifies. Then there’d be a play off after that.

Yes but we're higher ranked than the Blues so should be home

Us and the Ospreys are ranked fourth. The rules say there must be a play off between a team in each conference the team with the most points are home. If the Ospreys automatically qualify the rules still stay in place meaning the blues are next up in the other conference. They have more points so the same home and away rule applies. People are saying the PRO14 are changing the rules. If what I said isn’t followed that’s when they’ll be breaking the rules. I originally was really annoyed at the whole thing but if you go on the site and read up then unfortunately we’ll be away regardless.

I think next season it’s all change with the conferences based on finishing positions this season. No doubt they’ll adjust things again. It’s farcical.
