Looking forward to watching NZ v Aus on Saturday morning. Obviously writing off NZ is a very dangerous thing to do but they are under more pressure now than at any time in the past 8-10 years. All areas of the team appear a little unsettled with the front row not firing ( Franks dropped from the 23), Retallick injured, Savea playing out of position at 6, Barrett moved from 10 due to his poor goal kicking, unsettled centre combinations & new wingers being tried ( both Smith & Ioane dropped).

If the unthinkable happens & they lose on Saturday the public response will be massive. This is a real test of Hansen's undoubted ability. As for the game in Cardiff I fear that despite all the talk of how much depth Wales have created the reality may start to show - in many positions we are an injury away from calamity - loose head, tight head, AWJ, No 8, scrum half, outside half, 13. With these shortcomings in mind Gatland should really think of giving gametime to Rhys Carre, Leon Brown, Cory Hill, a no 8 & Scott at 13. What he does at 9/10 is anyone's guess if Tomas Williams withdraws & Patchell is deemed not ready.

Suddenly this strength in depth is being tested to its limits. We have no magical answer at 10 but we do have a tried and tested solution at 9 waiting in the wings. Time methinks for the WRU to get real.

lets not forget, NZ always do this pre world cup. this is their warm up...and they are experimenting as well.
as for Wales, i have always said about Gatland, he's a stubborn selector. which has its plus sides. but he will never go for a team with about 5 new caps (sometimes more). every other nations have. with the end goal being the world cup. Australia, South Africa, even England have done so and their depth is now showing. New Zealand have always done it. those players have now gaines good exposure to international rugby and are looking strong for the World Cup for it.

Wales, climbed the world rankings but at what cost...
as you have rightly pointed out we are vulnerable pretty much all over.

Wainwright heading into a World Cup where it was shown that he was way out of his depth. that doesnt mean it should be the end, but he needs more exposure to that level. an injury away and the likes of Macleod, Griffiths and Boyde will be called on. 10...Sam Davies and Dan Jones probably next in line then Josh Lewis...midfield pairing, Scott and Watkin have had some time together, unfortunately due to Scotts injnuries hasnt had the amount of rugby to hit any form, but needs game time. Parkes and Foxy are already familiar as a partnership. should something happen to Parkes or Foxy, a pairing of Watkin/Foxy have had 80mins on the field together, Parkes and Watkin, 0 mins together...there's no partnership there. with 3 big games left before the World Cup, I fear Anscombe will not be the only casualty and that will as you rightfully say put Wales in an extremely vulnerable place at a point in international rugby you cant afford to be.

Indeed.

The Scots need to find some steel from somewhere - there wasn't much on display last week!

The Scots are a busted flush - they will get nowhere until they find a front 5 who can bring power. Talk of playing the game faster than anyone is a load of b.....ks if you can't win the ball or defend.

Indeed.

It was a sad day to see Barclay being criticised after the France game - as you say, if the front 5 lack the grunt to win enough ball, it's a hard day for everyone else - plus, it was his first game back after a lengthy injury lay off (I think). People are very unforgiving - and often, badly informed.

some world class quality left out of the All Blacks squad with Laumape, Squire, Franks and Frizell. With Franks and Squirre already signed up for next season with a move to Northampton and Japan...Frizell is out of contrcact- lets go for him! #WeCanOnlyDream

Shows how important Retallick is to NZ as he is not going to be ready until the quarter finals.

Liam emerging as 10 cover...how will that hamper the selection of patch/evans or possibly omitting both from the squad...

Left out at his own request, for fear of his mental health as he doesn't feel he is ready to cope with the pressure of playing in the RWC.
