From being out in Japan for the group matches, the word from the camp was Gatland rates cCubby, and in my opinion if Tips was injured then Cubby would slot in.

Just my opinion from what I was told from really good sources not plucked from the air or even my imagination.

I honestly thought Cubby was just ordinary against Fiji, but the camp was more than happy with him, the card was for the team and a little unlucky.
Be careful when you pick up the stick.........IT MAY BE THE WRONG END!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to see James Davies and Justin Tipuric in the same squad, 2 out and out 7s, especially with Halfpenny in the side being able to slot penalties 50m+.

Liam out: damn. Guy offers the ability to make breaks and now we only really have Foxy in that capacity, who hasn't really been his old break making self. And Cawdor off rucks/scrums of course.

This is a link to the BBC story on Liam's injury:

It's a real shame - he's been our best attacking player, along with Adams.

Adams has been great, fair play. Its just our centres feel a bit broken at the moment due to carrying injuries and we don't really put our wings on the ball at pace or in space enough to really utilise the size of a guy like North. The cross kick also hasn't been used as much as I was expecting, perhaps we'll see this versus SA.

Patchell at 15 could be a goer - if risky with both our 10s starting.   Can't see Cubby getting in the 23.

In terms of Wales chances of winning the world cup, I feel Liams injury lowers those chances considerably. One of the best players in the world.

A back three of Halfpenny, North and Adams isn’t too shabby though. To be honest Halfpenny is better suited to this game. The centres are the biggest problem
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

No but my understanding is it’s 50/50 on both centres

With SA having a 6:2 split on the bench, picking Cubby on the bench if we went 6:2 would give decent flexibility, if too many backs got injured.

I wonder if they’ll call Scott Williams into the squad with the 3rd place match/ final in consideration as a result of Liam Williams’ injury.

I doubt very much they'll call anyone up.

Adams can play full back, and possibly Amos will be fit then also we still have Patchell.

To be able to play any replacement must be in Japan 3 days prior to the game.

Cubby can play wing as well.
