after Toulon performance in my view what miss at the moment are turnover in breakdown, MacLeond needs a rest; but also some break in the centres. Parkes unfortunatelu in my view is out of form or needs more time then others. Hughes gives his best at 12 and for us could be a decent second playmaker, with Asquith 13, waiting for Baldwin backs from injury...
As other teams doing to find a new solution at 13, sorry if Im saying bad, but a try with McNicholl could be done...We know is defence problem, but with Liam on the wing he can cover the channel and Halfpenny as last defender...Of course McNicholl can do his best on attack, in a phase where in this moment we are too predictable..
A kind of play as Rees Zammit did against Montplellier, he is a modern wing who plays all around the field, finding the break and off load for supporting runner...Liam and McN can do it at the best..

Parkes needs to play himself back in to form, Steff could do with a rest but I think being as we've enlisted our entire squad for this  tournament I'd put a complete third string team out not to risk any injuries.
Maybe I'd risk conbeer and Baldwin but probably just throw the youth team out there.

Id certainly give conbeer baldwin and morgan a run out. Theyve all impressed in their little cameos

This will be the final week we see the internationals and they will be having a break after this match. We have given ourselves an outside chance of qualification, we have to at least try and take it.

Assess the bruised bodies and go for one last hurrah. There will be a great away support to cheer them on.

With a BP firmly required we need to try and pick a team that can at least threaten the line a bit.

There's quite a long break for the non internationals after this game.
We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

Hopefully Worcester beat Castres Friday night giving Castres a losing bonus point and no bonus point themselves for winning. We know then that we can qualify with a BP win on sat.

That would be a poor result for us. Dragons will get second at least in that group on 20 points. We need Castres to beat Worcester and force Leicester to win to guarantee a home QF

Worcester win without a bp and Castres get a lbp will mean they both finish on 19 but Castres will be 2nd (presuming Drags win with a bp against the Russians) as Castres will have a better head to head against Worcester. Then presuming we get a bp win against Irish, we would have a better points difference than Castres (we’re currently on +40 whilst Castres are on +50).

So after all that a 4-1 win for Worcester would be 1 of the 4 results which would allow us to grab a quarter final spot.

Actually I think you are correct. Apologies

Don't think London Irish will be a pushover. They know they're fighting for survival this year but they have signed quality players like Naholo and others. They've spent big to stay up. They won't see this as a game to avoid, they'll want to play and express themselves without fear, play themselves in to form. The win isn't guaranteed, let alone a bonus point.

With Wales players probably having one eye on the Six Nations, I'm a bit pessimistic about this one. Think we could lose. Hoping for the bonus point win though.

Just need tigers to win and we have to do the business ourselves, looks like going through as 8th then could mean Bristol away?

If any of our players have that sort of attitude we should ship them out to the Ospreys or somewhere now.

We cannot control what happens in the other games, however we damn well can in ours. We go to Reading next Saturday with a rocket up our arse and smash them!!
What would Grav think about some of the negativity on here?!😩

Just think it's the reality of modern day rugby. The prestige and quality of test rugby is miles above regional rugby, sadly. If it were different, and we knew we just had to win the qualify and not rely on other results, it might be different. But players are human, they only have so much mental and emotional 'inspiration' and effort. Totally reasonable to have players not throw everything at a game we could win and end up being meaningless 2 weeks before the 6 Nations starts.

It's an argument for breaking up the season I suppose and not having test rugby interrupt the domestic season.
