Knott really good today. Sam struggled again but made one big hit in defence

Yes Knott looked a decent player. Costellow, like Lloyd after him, struggled to control a game behind a beaten front 5. He doesn't shy away from a tackle thats for sure.

Watched Costellow twice now.Yes,he's played behind a beaten pack, but has failed to impress at all.
He’s 18 years old.... and there was plenty of good in his game yesterday

I don't need to be reminded of his age-I did notice that it was an under 20's game. There were thirty players on view aged from 18 to 20:some of them were impressive, some weren't.Costellow wasn't impressive.Good half-backs will often find themselves behind struggling forwards, and then have to demonstrate their ability to make the best of little or poor possession. On this basis,Costellow has been poor so far and I see no point in pretending otherwise.I hope he improves.

Im a fan but he has been poor in last two games  Fair enough behind a beaten pack but basic errors like poor passes missing pens to  touch etc are is not good enough at this level. Brave though and strong in tackle

I thought Costello was a done deal?

BBC comments even from Ioan Cunningham suggest not:-

So did I. Very odd stuff. We have Dan , Patchell and Angus as three 10’s and I guess Steff Hughes at a push . It looks like Jack Maynard of Drovers is not going to break through though?🤔 Costello would be very useful for us. Perhaps he has cold feet about joining us ?

think its just a case of the coaches being very coy in what they say to the public

Yes it is. He's clearly not allowed to say it is until it's officially announced.
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Imagine how easy it would be for the media to get info if it was as easy as just chucking names at coaches, where's the fun in that!

Totally agree, he is quality. Cutting England to ribbons. Running the game, very astute control but also electric break skills. Really hope we have signed him.
