See Tomi Lewis went out on loan to Ampthill this week, and scored a try on his debut this afternoon at Newcastle Falcons.

I think a good move for Tomi and Scarlets with regards next season .

Great to see this happen. Paul Turner the coach there. He’s done very well. Mid table in the Championship.

On a budget of £600k whereas Newcastle’s is £7m
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Josh Adams went to Ampthill on loan and look what happened to him!

I thought he played for Cinderford.

No substitute for pace. Like Rees-Zammitt, Tomi has that gas. Interesting move, I would have thought that there would have been opportunities for him with us this season. Somewhat disappointing that it might be perceived that the Welsh Premiership was not a strong enough breeding ground for him.

Not all talented youngsters make it. My gut feeling is that Tomi will. If he does make it through to the first team, that pace will be a joy to watch.

Thanks for that. Tomi has real gas for sure. Great if he gets gametime in the Championship which is consistently a higher standard than our premiership I would say. We are going to struggle at FB for the rest of the 6 nations games with AOB & maybe a returning Patchell probably earmarked for a few games. If Tomi is not being considered for those games then his development will be greatly helped by playing regularly for Ampthill.

He might be on good wages in Ampthill as they were throwing a bit of cash around even in the ‘90’s when I was involved in the North Midlands League and they have gone up a couple of levels since then! Don’t know who backs them now ? Perhaps it’s convenient for college or something as well ?

I'm stunned Ampthill have a team in the Championship. I used to live in Bedford just up the road and Ampthill can't be much bigger than Burry Port Wink
