Quality player but even more of a quality human being. The work he has done for cancer organisations and raising money has been amazing
Fought the battle with always a smile on his face.
Thoughts go to his family and friends

You will not be forgotten, gone too soon. Lightning quick over the first 20 your interception tries will not be forgotten on the Stradey faithful. A minutes silence should be held at twickers today. RIP.

Failing that, even just a bucket collection in his memory.

Excellent idea. Wonder if this can be suggested to the club?

RIP Matthew.

Very sad news - I knew he was ill, but these comments have informed me of his fundraising work, as well as his personal qualities. Thanks for the information.

Of course, we all could see that he had exceptional physical qualities in terms of speed and elusiveness... memory is a funny thing, but I believe that on one occasion, he ran the ball back and pretty much through the whole opposition pack after (probably) a line-out, and either scored or set up a try...an amazing Houdini moment.

Condolences to his family and friends. Great player and was always a brilliant partner with whom ever was in the centre with him. That takes some doing, shows how classy, clever and skilful he was. RIP Matty J.
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)
