Rugby paper suggests we’re in pole position to sign Tongan no 8 from Leicester Tigers. One of the leading ball carriers in the English Premiership he’s seen by Delaney as an addition to improve the physicality of the pack. He worked with Delaney at Nottingham.

He's also out with a head concussion, 3 months was suggested here a few weeks ago, that was before the season ended. Not sure we should be signing a 32 year old with concussion issues.

Good ball carrying 8. Age and concussion issues count against him, presume therefore that he won't cost much. If he is OK to play then it will be a good signing.

He looks a more physical player than Blade, but to me, that suggests that he is more likely to suffer from recurring concussion issues and I think it would be an even bigger gamble to sign him at this stage of his career.

Exactly type of player we need . Age a bit of an issue but nothing major but that concussion is a big worry one more and he is proabably done

Although with a name like that, at Y Parc, the Cali-for-nia song is beckoning. And with Tex too, its taking on a US theme.

I think our view of players with concussion in their history reflects the challenges that both Halfpenny and Blade have had over the last 12 months.
It's a little disconcerting to see a player given the thumbs down based on concussion though. If we applied that, the player pool would dwindle overnight. Guy is a pedigree 8 mind. |

Its funny how people take no notice of the funding news and take the Andy Howell `skint scarlets` logic. We have the best funding model of any region and quite possibly we are in the top tier within the UK.The days of picking up the dregs have gone. If it is true about Kalamafoni then he will be a good addition to the squad when we are stripped by call ups. That is assuming he's not beset with head issues like Blade.

It's not as if Blade is a model of availability though.

The big French English irish and even Japanese clubs are a tier above us salary wise , munster have just signed two world cup winning springboks We are ahead of the other welsh regions but when it comes to the real big hitters we just cant compete no welsh region can and we won't be able to ever again imo This guy has the size power and pedigree we want but It's not surprising people are way about a guy who has been told he needs a 3 month lay off for concussion who plays in a manner that guarantees he will take contact I'd take the punt though worth the risk Edited by RR1972 - 23 March 2020 at 11:33am |
