Youre right will. Daf jones, quinnell, ieuan... true scarlet legends are well spoken when on tv. Clever enough not to getvdrawn into bad mouthing other regions. Where as shane, not only him tho, are not that smart when commentating. Its as if others dangle the carrot in front of him and he bites everytime. |

He was on S4C Friday night alongside Dafydd Jones, Dwayne Peel, and Mefin Davies looking back at the 2005 England game. He came across as big headed and arrogant to say the least. How many last game farewell games did he have. He's very self obsessed and has a very high opinion of himself.

I used to love watching him play, but never had any expectations of him excelling in any other field, including as a commentator, wit, or connoisseur.

As much as I loved Ieuan's play, he is awful as a commentator. Puts me to sleep with a monotonous dirge. Although he is far better than Michael Owen.

Grav would always bait Swansea - after we beat them in late 84. He was interviewed after the game by rob king of ITV. He smiled looked at the camera and said “ITS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO BEAT THE JACKS”. He played hell at every opportunity- wonderful times 👍👍👍😂😂

Right. As I posted I don't worry about being partisan and showing your colors. I actually don't think there's anything wrong with it.
My point was that modern mainstream tv/media punditry ( which isn't after dinner speaking) is now as PC as you can get. The comments won't have gone down well with those that select pundits. Being Wales' record try scorer is always going to open some doors of course, as is being a Welsh speaker. But I sense the after donner speaker circuit beckons. |

The bit that tickled me was 'especially as the announcement came on the same day as they confirmed that Hadleigh Parkes was definitely leaving', as if the Ospreys news and Hadleigh leaving was some sort of double blow for us. My recollection of people's opinions on here last season was a mixture of disappointment that the Os had found themselves in this position plus some annoyance at the notion that our board would consider such a merger/takeover without consulting the fans. I don’t for instance recall any Ex Scarlets players going to the media and wondering what Os fans must be thinking. It was all quite sad really. Ospreys will be strong when the season resumes and all banter aside, I think most of us on here would prefer that they have had this injection of cash and energy, rather than the demise of our local rivals. As for what we’re thinking – There’s a COVID-19 on, so bigger things to think about for now. Edited by Rob o'r Bont - 25 May 2020 at 10:28am |

Shane has an opinion on everything especially since he retired. If he concentrated on what he knows he would have more respect.
The media treat him as a demigod and give him space------ none more than yesterday on WOL, really a nonsense article. We are all biased towards our regions, and that how it should be.
