88 was my first time at the National Stadium (I was 6) and one of my favourite games of all time. Ieuans try after kick ping pong and the reaction of the crowd made me fall in love with the game and the Scarlets.

99 was my first time at Ninian Park and probably my least favourite game of all time. Losing to the Jacks in the baking heat, sitting on uncomfortable wooden benches in a stadium which stank of pish was not an experience I ever want to repeat. Especially seen as we'd just battered Cardiff in the semi's!

my brother in law is a jack , if anyone has a copy of that game can they dm me

we went to the game together  a year later when we got our revenge on them, LOLLOL

Random story I once went to a house party in neath and dai parker the neath scrum half motm  in the first final was there he came over to join us lovely man in fairness

quiz question

what player/players have the most cup final wins?

Nigel played in six winning teams: 1985, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1998.
I saw all the Llanelli finals apart from 1993 when I was admitted to hospital with malaria on the morning of the match. My personal favourite was the 1985 final which ended a nine year drought.

Serves you right for going out in Swansea the night before.

88, 89, 91, 92, 93, 94, 98, 99, 00, 02, 03.

88 - Ieuan scored immediately in the corner. The band hadn't even left the field. Jiffy's day
89 - Kevin Phillips theatrical lifting of the cup. Ugh. A classic Ieuan try nonetheless
91 - Very memorable, some scintillating long range tries in a dominant win. Spaceman
92 - Really big clash, Ieuan skinning Simon Davies the Jack winger, Moon inspirational
93 - Big favourites but never really got going after a phenomenal season. Tarw's drop goal
94 - Expecting us to win, but we'd peaked the season before. Boobyer fullback didn't go well IIRC
98 - Bristol. First win after a few years of wilderness. Not a vintage team. Madden's try. Showtime
99 - Disaster at Ninian Park
00 - A win to right the wrongs of the year before. We'd kicked on with major signings
02 - Should have beaten Ponty, but team on a downer after the HC semi
03 - Class team that easily despatched Newport

Does anyone remember how we went out in 2000/01?

In 2000/01 we were routed by Cardiff at Stradey, probably our most embarrassing performance in the competition.
