I've no idea how he tolerated/absorbed the playground antics that besets Welsh rugby at virtually every turn, whilst at the same time building back our brand to being the leaders in the country.

When he took on the role in 2011 we were stripped back to the bone in terms of playing staff, PyS was struggling to meet the aspirations of just about anyone, we were one from bottom of the Pro 12, the 0/6 whipping boys in Europe, and our existence was pretty much underpinned by our amazing benefactors.

To go from there to winning the Pro 12, and an Euro SF, in just a few short years, will be his legacy.

I looked for him and the rest of the Board on that fantastic day in Dublin when we won that Pro 12, it was fitting for all the backing, time and effort he and they put in to us. He was beaming.

Great he stays on the Board, his experience will be invaluable to the incumbent.

Diolch Nigel.
This post says it all really and I can't think of anything to add.

When we think of signings, we normally think of players and coaches. We've had some brilliant signings over the years but Nigel Short has probably been the best 'signing' of all.

Haha, fitting.

Great news, we keep strenghtening the Board. We are in good hands.

Not much to add to this save the fact that but for Nigel Short we wouldn't be where we are now. I think he's done an amazing job and as at least one other has said, he's arguably been one of the best "signings" the club has made.

From a lifelong scarlet's fan, thank you Nigel for saving and helping grow the club I love.

Hopefully there will be a time and occasion when we will be able to mark our appreciation not only to Nigel for his huge contribution (and continuing support) but to staff members and players that have left.
And a big welcome to those joining us on this great clubs journey.
Finally it would also be fitting to remember those that we have lost, that we were unable to give a proper final farewell to. A roll call of sorts.

Thankyou Nigel Short for being steadfast and incredibly loyal and a driving force for all things Scarlet. Has been a fantastic asset for the Scarlets and we had not a Captain but an Admiral navigating us through some torid times. We have been fortunate for so many of the board for being at our club, Nigel has been superb and again I would like to thank him for being a massive part of the ongoing Scarlet journey and history.

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us"
