It could start a relationship between us and quins. Say we need a second row short term or something we borrow one of their players etc.
I too think its for the PR side of things and what benefit heโll bring remains to be seen. But I accept its a high profile addition.

Huge to bring in a figure like Fitzpatrick on board to sell our brand. As he says... Rugby is now a business. New chief now on board as well. Look forward to see what they can bring. He speaks about the global calendar and potential changes I wonder if things are further along the lines than we know... And to market a brand like scarlets with the way we play in potential summer months can be a great sell pitching for sponsors.
But listening to Fitzpatrick speak that it's his and our goal to become the best club side in the world is fine ambition. Why settle for Europe when we can be the best of the best gives me goosebumps. I know as he said it will take time, a lot of hard work, but the target is there. Its been set in typical all black fashion to simply be the best. Nigel Short has taken us from a dark period to champions. Over to the new breed to build on the foundations that's been put in place and dream big.

Wonder what the Harlequins board say about that goal? I imagine their goal is the same....

The quest for excellence is never ending. Having unreasonably high expectations is part of that quest. This shows that the board is deadly serious. That's the important message. Most people will know that having Fitz onboard isn't a miracle ingredient, but most will also know that he will not want to be associated with failure.

It's smart/necessary to seek avenues to building a "global brand". The structures of the game are becoming increasingly pan-continental.
Arguably, we lack the firepower to do that at executive level, but now have an inclination to smarten-up at it at NED/chair level (?).

This is absolutely amazing news for sure, and shows real intent and determination of where we really want to be going forward! So looking forward and excited to what Sean is going to be able to bring to the board, and the region in general.
Exciting times for sure!!!

The goal may be the same my friend...but they haven't got the Scarlets history.

Who would have our history in the NH? Cardiff, Bath, Leicester, Northampton, Munster, Ulster, French teams? I think Leinster are of more recent heritage.

Scarlets before Wales
