Great result and a great day out. Shame it was such a small turnout but at least they knew the Scarlets were in town by the singing. I drove up from Stoke and watched the game with some Leeds friends, they had nothing but praise for the team and thought we were unlucky. Agree the low numbers were nore to do with their current form rather than us.

Quite simple really. If you win all 3 games, you qualify for semis. Bonus points are not really an issue in this competition.

Great performance though, and with a little more composure that "bonus point" could have been in the bag before half time. I believe now that we really have something to build on.

your going on the assumption the scarlets won't lose a game. if we beat newcastle and lose against sale and newcastle beat leeds without bonus points we'd have 8 points each. as it is newcastle have a bonus points so they would have 9.

i'm confident but any team is beatable especially in cup games

Agree. Do we lack that killer instinct? Is that why we failed to dispose of Northampton and Leicester in those semi-finals when we were clearly the better team? Newcastle will be tough, no doubt. They have some fine players in Wilko, Charvis, Matt Burke and Tait. They play an open game (this might suit us). If our forwards can get parity, then I think we can win. The English media will be down in force if Wilko starts. The game is on network T.V.  so we have a wonderful oppurtunity to show the whole of the country that we are still a top european team. Great ocassion. Can we get the West Walian support out of the pubs and into Stradey? Roll on Sunday.

According to the report I read of Newcastle v. Sale, Sale had a weak team out - so I imagine they are not interested in this competition. If they field a weak side against us, that should be in the bag.
As for Newcastle, their strength is supposed to be in the backs, so we need to crush them at forward. They don't seem to have many big names in their pack, Charvis is the best known.
The Newcastle game is certainly the key to this group.

The club [Sale] and the fans have said they couldnt care less about the competition.I cannot see how the AW [PC] wouldnt appeal to the fans of any club, but there you go,it takes all sorts.
