Professional rugby players shouldnt be drinking at all imo especially not to the level that powell must have been under. Yes it provides short lived entertainment for us but its all sheer stupidity

Some fair comments. The guy was drink driving no matter what vehicle. I think a lot of us have seen first hand stupid incidents by our own players in town before now.

Just read Ian Mgeechans book and he talks of him as a loose cannon.
Time to leave him be now and let him get back on the rugby field.

I spoke to him in a pub in Cardiff after we had beaten London Irish home and i was wearing my Scarletts jacket and he came over and congratulated me on our win. He was very polite and humble. |

I agree that there always has been and I hope always will be a degree of players letting their hair down post match, having a few pints and getting up to whatever, but I mean, there's stupid and there's STUPID. Driving a buggie pissed up down the M4, that is is just plain idiotic. He's lucky that nothing really horrendous resulted from it. Very silly boy.
