I can see Rhys going the whole Autumn without any game time.

It seems that Gatland has decided on Owen Williams at 12, so Patch will be frozen out.

Cant we have him back for our SA trips, rather than him holding tackle bags in the Vale??

I would love to see the SA game however with the following back line:

Cawdor / Aled at 9
Patch at 10
Steff at 11
Hadleigh at 12
Scott at 13
Amos at 14
Haffers at 15.

It wont happen however, but would be interesting.

Throw in Rob, Ken and Sampson.
Jake and Shings

11 Scarlets.

yea they cant even RISK playing patch off the bench against georgia?
This is the multi talented fly half who lead us to our magnificent title charge just 6 months ago?
His one and only welsh start was out of position at full back agaisnt the world champions in eden park? and the lad played well. He can place kick from 60 meters out, he can kick off both feet, hes a big lad strong in possession, has pace, great orchestrator of the back line lovely variety of kicking options...But no we cant risk him on the bench, lets have bigger on the bench in a development game against georgia
its Beyond pathetic, its pitiful

Get him back to scarlet base camp , forget wales for 2 years until the dreadful nepotistic closed shop coaching set up flies off post 2019

In all fairness, Patch hasn’t played to his ability this season. I agree it’s disappointing he can’t even make the bench though.

Neither has bigger! (although he did play ok last weekend)

he should have been on the bench this weekend, he wont feature against nz, and might have 5 mins at the end of the SA game IF he makes
the bench. Shocking

Game is outside the IRB window so Liam won't play.

Hasn't that got more to do with ensuring that Biggar gets to the 60 caps he needs so he can play next season

Absolutely I can't believe Biggar would be on the bench if it wasn't for this - and they will bring him on during the last five minutes just to ensure he gets the cap (understandably so too)

Priestland is a better flyhalf than Patch though.

Profound lack of depth is apparent

I’d have loved to have seen this backline at some point this autumn:

Patchell
Sanjay
Foxy
Scott
Steff
Priestland
Webb

Not going to happen now I suppose but I’d love to see those half backs and back three as combos against the AB’s.

Patch ommission from the bench is a disgrace. The seb davies gamble at 8 is bizarre. especially as we desperately need to develop an 8, this is just a silly gimmick

Part of me is wishing he went to Northampton with 59 caps
