I don't share the doom and gloom on here. If we'd been totally outplayed in the last 3 competitive matches, fair enough, but we haven't. We looked comfortable against Glasgow in the first half and certainly had the upper hand in the scrum, but Frank Murphy's refereeing killed us. A lot to work on but lets give Glenn and co a bit more time.

I wonder if we will look at a loan at lock like last season.

Think Whitehouse is ok, could maybe be less fussy.
But Murphy is a real homer.

I was ridiculed on here for moaning about the loss to the ospreys in a friendly,my point was that winning becomes a habit and so does losing, just ask the osprey players from last season.

Blade just named in the Scotland squad, so thats 15 internationals missing plus Sam banned, McNicholl and Shingler injured.

We play Edinburgh at home in Round 4 - they have 14 players named in the squad.

I assume with a new AI set of Covid bubbles being created that it will prevent players who are not picked for a game being released back to their clubs so it’s quite an absence period ☹️

His track record as a head coach isn't that great. In the 2014/15 season at London Irish, they won 10 and lost 19 in all competitions under Glenn as Head Coach, and then in the 2015/16 season, won 7 and lost 24 in all competitions with Glenn being Head of Rugby.

Things appear to be different when he's an assistant, for example, when he was at Highlanders from 2017 to 2019, but I'm not 100% convinced yet that he's the right man for the job hear as Head Coach.

We'll see as they say.

Not sure how long his loan deal is. Is it all season? Can we call him back?

He's with us now and unless this season is a real catastrophe (which none of us want) then he will remain in place until the end of the season. I do have serious doubts, in particular to whether he's going to give the players the freedom to play rugby our way. However, it's still early days yet, there's time for him to put it right. But all these international call ups/injuries/bans etc. are not going to help.

I have found his team selections baffling so far, however he'll have much less to choose from now for a number of games.

London Irish and Highlanders are not comparable clubs for judging a coach.

seems a paradox but when he trained Highlanders, their defence was terrible, but surely defence is also an attitude player skill..
For Delaney, Scarlets experience is his great occasion. For me he s a great assistant coach, but as head coach needs to demostrate something more and his start isn t so encoraging...but it s to early to judge the job.
As I understand Scarlets choice about the role of head coach. Mooar exit was a shocl

He’s 2 from 5 thats not a win rate. I’d have expected 3 from 5, losing to Glasgow and Toulon away but winning the others. Alas not to be, there needs to be a turnaround in fortunes. Discipline has lost us 3 games, selection we’ll debate until the cows come home but i think we can all agree silly penalties are rife.

In the last two games we’ve actually had spells when we’ve been playing well (although struggling to score tries) yet it’s the spells of conceding consecutive penalties that’s killed us in both games in my opinion. Sort out the discipline and the rest should come as we’ll have an opportunity to build phases and hopefully score more.

2 games in and we head the league in pens (26).
Up down or sideways that has to change.
