Hope not. It's not just in the actual tackle that he was poor against Edinburgh, but he made little effort to recover when his opponent flew past him, seeming to jog leisurely back.
He showed much more interest in attack, but what does it matter if  you score a try only to concede 3.
I don't criticize us for signing him, as, on paper he looked a good bet when few others with his experience were available. However, playing him against Leinster would be suicidal and I'd much rather see Tom Williams on the right wing.

Varndell was bad on Saturday, and you bet your bottom dollar, that the person who is feeling worse than anyone is Tom Varndell.

I don't think he'll be in the squad on Saturday, but if he is, he will not play that badly again, he has more experience than most, with a bagful of tries, for class clubs, so would I be worried, not really, concerned maybe but who knows how he will react, he has this "English" mentality, and if he is involved it could be one if not the last big game of rugby and he will not want to go out in a bad way.

His pride will not allow him,
Be careful when you pick up the stick.........IT MAY BE THE WRONG END!!!!!!!!!!

Steffan Thomas tweeted this about 20m ago.. surely wouldn’t have if he’s injured?

Great news
Any offence taken on board is only a literate/cy consequence. Every attempt at humour is just that. No personal insult intended. Standards lowered for trolls.

You can’t expect magic, anybody who didn’t see a pasting coming when that team was announced needs to get their eyes checked. 10, 12 & 13 all missed tackles as well we going to get rid of them too.

Id expect a guy with the amount of games and expertise to be able to manage a tackle or at least track back maybe even position correctly. Think they should have swapped Baldwin and Nicholas around. Had a great weekend up there just a shame the team didn't turn up. It's a lot of money when your team performs that bad.

Anyone have idea on when Tom Price returns ? Steff any truth in Jake his out until next season ?

Public injury updates could be a thing of the past for all clubs soon.

I would go with Baldwin at 13 if Scott is out, Nicholas is too much of a liability falling off tackles.

I hope we don't see Varndell, if we do I hope he's one of those big game players who'll pull a massive performance out of his ass.

Tom Price may be required but we'll probably just have McLeod and Boyde on the bench and Shingler could move to 2nd row if needed.

Or an outside bet would be Cubby on the wing from the start.

He has been that bad twice in a row this wasnt a one off, and he was getting exposed for pace. Pace doesnt come back the older you get trust me.

Patch has to start at 10 if we are going to win. Dan was showed up last week with his lack of pace and defence.
