just been on the bridgend fans forum, and theres a rumour starting to fly around that bridgend could stay up after all!! they reckon because rules were breeched during the neath v llandovery game last monday.something to do with the passive scrum scenario that occured during the game.llandovery could be deducted 8 points if found guilty apparently!!

I think this is rumourmongering, perhaps by the same lot that are claiming that Neath fixed the game. Why on earth would Neath fix the game. Judging from the way the Neath players were trying it did not look as if they were throwing the game I am guessing as it went to passive scrums in the 72nd minute that the authorities would have to know about it as a matter of course. The reasons were genuine. They had used all their subs, the prop on the field was injured he came off no specialist prop to replace him therefore it was not safe to carry on with contested scrums. The referee must have agreed to it and allowed it to happen at the time. He can not have been unaware of it. There was perfectly genuine reason for it. The front row had played a tough match up at Pontypridd 48 hrs earlier so it is not suprising there were injuries all around the field. Llandovery as far as I know have not had to have passive scrums during the season so it is hardly a habit. We did not win the game as a result. Not sure how many scrums there were after it went passive but only a few and the Blacks did not threaten the line with them.I hope to God that Bridgend are not engineering this as a way of staying in the premiership and the authorities understand that there was a genuine reason for it.

Conversly though if Llandovery cheated, isn't that skullduggery?

Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Fair play though, they tried it all to stay up - the Ospreys reserve side plus Dafydd James and now this.

If you're losing your soul and you know it, then you've still got a soul left to lose.

How have llandovery cheated, ive seen the scarlets have passive scrums before now, if you have no props to go on as they are injured then it is law to go passive

Please clarify? All bar Cai Griffiths & Daf James against Aberavon were Bridgend Registered players or on permit from lower or similar standard teams to cover our injury problems.
