Didn't realise Gardiner was back at the RFC? I thought he was at Swansea? Always felt the boy could scrummage - what's happenning with him these days?

QUINS V LLANELLI
By Colin Clarke | 08/09/2016 Carmarthen Quins v Llanelli RFC Following a successful opening weekend for both clubs and, with momentum being crucial at this early stage of the competition, this will be a hugely important local derby in Round 2 of the Principality Premiership. Llanelli must be congratulated on a fine win against the current champions Ebbw Vale last Sunday. Playing at home and in the final quarter of the game with Llanelli trailing 22-9 they produced an excellent come-back to win 24-22. There is no doubt the Gwent outfit were favourites to win that fixture and as such Llanelli’s victory will give them increased confidence ahead of this weekend’s clash against the Quins. Carmarthen on the other hand were away against Swansea in what can only be described as extremely difficult conditions, with continual driving rain prevailing throughout the match. Swansea were intent on causing an upset and putting down a marker on their return to the top flight, however, the Quins never really looked threatened and remained in control for the majority of the game. Whilst the quality of the lineout was somewhat disrupted by the weather the scrum in particular looked very solid. It was not a day for running rugby and the Quins will be pleased with a deserved 21-14 win to get their campaign underway. The weather this Saturday promises to be more conducive to the kind of rugby supporters from both clubs will wish to see and a highly competitive fixture is anticipated. Quins Squad: 15. Gavin Thomas 14. Lee Williams 13. Iolo Evans 12. Rhys Williams 11. Dylan Morgans 10. Steffan Marshall 9. Connor Lloyd 8. Shaun Jones 7. Will Boyde 6. Ellis Lloyd 5. Haydn Pugh 4. Ben Thompson 3. Steffan Thomas 2. Torin Myhill 1. Gethin Robinson Replacements: 16. Nathan Williams 17. Rhodri Clancy 18. Javan Sebastian 19. Lee Taylor 20. Roy Osborn 21. Gareth George 22. Craig Evans 23. Kieran Jones |

Simon has signed with Llanelli and had good game last Sunday apart from a foolish yellow for being ungentlemanly towards the ref who was in the way of the ball and 'encouraged to move' by him! Cost him 10 minutes. Solid signing who is still young man.

Gardiner and Javan Sebastian, both back In the region, and both still young enough to fulfil some of their massive early promise, so long as they now put in the effort that they should have when they started.

Four Scarlets contracted players for Llanelli but none for Quins. Is there a reason behind this? Not allocated them or don't want them?
