The game was good. lively. Referee was awful and biased to Ospreys, John Davies yellow card was a good decision, he should be more professional!

the lineouts, scrums were rubbish at times, our defence won the game and they can get confidence fromsome cracking tackling!

KFG

How about some praise where it is due? Hercus gets a mauling after every game on this forum. How about a little positivity after a good game?

Other points: Referee biased towards Ospreys? The Scarlets discpline throughout the game was shocking. At half time the stats showed 9 penalties given away and 2 awarded. All these were legitimate apart from the John Davies incident. The referee had an awful game but wasn't biased - just cr@p. This was exemplified by Parker's blocking when he told David Davies that he saw nothing wrong with the block (yet he gave one the other way second half). John Davies did hardly anything wrong. He pushed Terblanche away for not giving him the ball. It happens ten times every game, every week. To give a yellow was one of the most ridiculous decisions I have ever seen in a rugby match. Pair it up with Cai Griffiths' yellow last week for stamping seven times and wonder how to such different incidents can be punished in the same way. A little consistency is needed here.

Next - the scrums were awful. Well, we had a player making his comeback after 6 months in the front row up against two of the best props in the Northern Hemisphere. Also, we played over 20 minutes of the game with only 14 men (ok, so there were no scrums when John was off). We were also without an out-and-out number 8.

The line-outs. Agree fully. We know that there is going to be a second row clear out at the end of the season and a new Intenational class player is arriving. Hopefully it will improve. Matthew Rees needs to look at, and improve, his game. Wasps will not be so forgiving next week.

All in all, not too bad considering we haven't played since the Bath game. The positives of the game were Gavin Thomas (once again), Mike Hercus and the general defence. Negatives are discipline - especially in the tackle area and yet another injury with Lee Byrne. Can we afford to miss 4 internationals against Wasps? Let's hope the recoveries are complete by Sunday.

I thought John Davies's push did not warrant a yellow but I think the general aggression shown by John charging across the pitch to do it may have influenced this poor referee. Even Gwyn Jones (covering for Johnathan who was ill) said from the commentary box that the ref had lost control of the game!
I'm Scarlet 'till I die!
