Take this situation and think about it and then decide.....
A breakdown occurs (or even line-out or scrum) with red in possession of ball. Red 9 passes back to Red 10. The ball slips through red 10's hands and hits the floor behind him and then bounces forward. The retreating red 9 picks up the ball. Is red 9 onside or offside ????? |

Onside, if the ball has not moved forward beyond the point where Red 10 first touched it, or Red 9 picks up the ball behind Red 10.

Good point forgot to say.
That the ball after going backwards off hands of 10 then bounced forward passed the 10 towards the 9. The 9 retreated and picked the ball up in front of the 10. So any more thoughts... |
