I know this has been discussed before but what are the limits for both categories in the squad? Is there a limit on time serving at the moment?

Time Serving -1 Earle

Time servers: Earle
NwQ's: Manu, Iongi, Timani, Vallejos

Snedds thread from a while ago has the answers to the limits. It all seems very complicated, one other thing is that negotiations are ongoing regarding the PwC regional rugby review. I'd be surprised if these negotiations didn't incorporate restrictions and funding in relation to overseas players. Maybe something has already been agreed which changes the current rules.

But like I said in that thread, I don't think nWq or time server limits to be the main thing these days.

Even though it's rarely discussed in the media or on forums, the last PA seemed to stress that the WQ match-day average to be the most important thing.

I'd love somebody from RRW/WRU or whoever to clarify the situation.

So we can only sign one more nwq?

I don't understand why tge wru should restrict time serving players, they are potential welsh internationals in tge making??!!

Apparently Iongi may not be returning. Which makes the Phillips signing add up.

I thought it was a good signing to cover for George, Sean, and Morgan. He was cheap already at a certain standard with the potential to be much better. With the emergence of Liam and with Fenby finding some form he had less games than originally predicted.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.

I guess the limit on the number of NWQ places would have had a baring on who Matt Gilbert left.

I thought I read somewhere that it was a 4 year contract we'd given him.  Google search doesn't confirm, only to say that he'd signed a long-term contract.

The club and Iongi have apparently agreed that a parting of the ways was in everyone's interest. Lots of un-foreseen things in that.

If Iongi has been released by us it makes perfect sense.

We need quality NWQ players in the pack and not the backs, we have plenty of options to cover wings - we haven't in the front 5.

Is that implying he'll be back sometime in the future?

I for one will be sad to see him go. Thought he had tremendous potential and a huge natural talent. Best of luck Villame.

Agree he had bags of potential going forward and was quick and strong, if he had played behind a pack going forward and creating spaces for the backs, he could have been amazing with his speed off the mark, but then you could say that for most of our backline.

I wish him well, where ever he goes, ClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClap
