Looked like he may be off for the rest of the tournament with the way his ankle was bent . Got to be several weeks surely but admittedly pure conjecture. Fingers crossed.

It didn't look good initially. Can't see him playing before Xmas at the earliest. If an op required then we could be looking a lot more.

ALl best to Foxy - also Steff and Samson.  How many more are going to come back crocked?

Apparently Steff was good to stay on. He was subbed because in Gatlands words  " the lad had run himself into the ground".

That's based on something Neil Jenkins said but he also says in that article "I am not definitely saying yet he is out. We just have to consult with the doctors to see where he is at."

If he ends up playing another game for wales with his ankle all strapped up and gets properly injured I'll be fuming considering these games mean [beep] all.

I honestly don't see Foxy playing again this Autumn. If he has strained his ankle ligaments then he won't make Boxing day.

It provides an opportunity for Wales to experiment now with new centre combinations.

Can guarantee it's a lot worse than that. Lucky we have two quality centres to step up.

Yes and the sort of injury you could have playing 10th grade rugby -just finding his ankle in wrong position and wrenched. Poor bad luck. Huge shame.

Excuse my language but gosh darn it. This is blinkin' awful news.

First name on the team sheet for both club and country and at the top of his game (even putting passes in!). Sport is cruel sometimes.

The article is in the Independent but still sounds slightly speculative.

That said I'm not expecting good news here

Makes you seriously nervous watching the rest of our players in these internationals. I really hope they release samson from the squad, achillies injuries can end careers and these autumn internaionals have no bearing on world cup seeding. Massive ask for scarlets double header against treviso, half the squad will have played 3/4 internationals amd the other half will have had 2 demanding games in SA!

Isn’t the pinnacle of a players career in any sport representing their country? This putting the blame on Wales is a bit silly.

Well said SA14. Up side is WRU will have to pay his wages.

if WRU now have to cover all his wage (not just the 60% as part of the dual contract) then do we look to bring in an experience player on a short term deal until the end of the season

How did you vote in the EU referendum, out of interest?

Injuries are part of the game, we've got to be able to cope without him / whoever is out. An opportunity for Steff Hughes and Ioan Nicholls and at least Foxy will be back for the playoff run at least.

Get well soon Foxy...at least the Scarlets would appear to have a good rep for taking care and rehabbing correctly and responsibly crocked players so that augers well.

His foot got caught underneath him and twisted his ankle as he went down. Purely bad luck, nothing more.

Big pressure on Scott and Hadleigh now. But also a good chance for Steff Hughes to step up.

If it is 6 months then in my reckoning that takes us up to mid May, we would probably then like to give him more time to fully recover and get a good rest ahead of next season. Unfortunately, the WRU pay most of his wages and are not exactly known for putting players welfare first. They will probably insist that he goes on a meaningless tour to Argentina.

A foot injury is how it was described so don't think its ankle - maybe the dreaded metatarsul?
