Now he has picked his side for Friday, surely some players who are woefully short of game time can be released back to the regions!!

------------- Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

The dragons cocked up any chance of player release when 9 of the squad tested positive. If they had stayed clear i think some would have been released last week and even more this week to make sure they are having game time. WRU can’t risk someone going into an environment where the whole squad and potential fixtures are put at risk.

Something does not add up with the Dragons Covid situation . The South Wales Argus reports in a morning they have a fully fit squad for the Connacht game last weekend, then all over sudden there are 9 people with Covid . The Ospreys had 3 players with Covid, but there games are been played .
We would not have any players released in my opinion, even without the above .

Hardy and Jonny Williams should be starting for us at the weekend. But can't see them being released.

Not a good idea having last minute release. They would have needed a week training withour squad to be of any use to us. q

Wouldn't necessarily be last minute, as long as they could get one or even two sessions down here before the game. Hardy and Williams badly need some game time - that's the only way they'll improve as players and show the Welsh coaches what they're capable of. And with due respect, they both walk into the current Scarlets XV.

We won't be having any. It's been said a few times. What we need and what we get are two completely different things. The squad we have at the moment (without the internationals) are the ones we have for more or less the season. We may see them for one or two games in December. Possibly January. But then it's 6N training camps.
I can only hope that they decide to move the 6N to the summer so we can have a 2021 with the internationals.

this is a total mess, hardy and Williams haven't played a minutes rugby since their call up there are other cases at other regions holmes, smith, dee to name a few who haven't had any rugby since the French game weekend Covid doesn't seem to stop other nations releasing fringe players back to their sides

You wonder why rugby isn't that popular. Nothing to do with the sport, but when star players play a handful of games a year for the regional teams it doesn't exactly encourage new fans.

We basically get a new team back when they finish and there is no time to gel the two squads back together before European fixtures are played usually. The whole Autumn cup is pointless, they just saw the opportunity to cash in on the Amazon tv deal. Money talks sadly and there is little we are able to do about it.

We never get that time anyway, I'm sure the last (extra) AI is usually the weekend before the 3rd round of European fixtures.

Yes,of course!!Since it was taken off terrestrial t.v,I haven't been able to see much of top class cricket at all.Lack of exposure is a big cause for concern there, and continually debated too.

Nope, we're locked in as one of the 4 top seeded teams for next months draw.

£11 Million pounds? seems a bit high that sn? don't doubt your inside info but you sure that's right? 12.25 million euro seems a lot just on a wage bill They don't really have any huge overseas stars there and a lot of their squad are homegrown academy kids

The Irfu stated last month that they were haemorrhaging about 5m euros per month on the national and provincial sides to that figure sounds about right, with that sort of funding they could afford to,keep all of their academy players happy - whereas we and the other regions are always struggling to stave off the English Premiership sides and their offers of bigger wages or scholarships.

They never use Covid as a reason! It’s always Wales position not release, has been for many many years now.

I can only assume from this weekend on that pivac will release a few from next week. It was always going to be mass changes v Georgia but for the rest of the tournament I expect him now to release players like Patch and Hardy and if he's not going to be used for the rest of the tournament, Johnny Williams.

The Wales camp haven't mentioned Covid, that's just reasonable speculation by outsiders like us. Patch will play his next game for us when fit, but if Kieran plays well, he could be in the 23 for the remaining Autumn games. Same for Johnny Williams. Watkins isn't all that IMHO
