I also think in Ireland that playing for the provinces is more of an honour for some than playing for the country. Whats the saying " Irish by birth Munster by the grace of God "

Yup. Elite Irish sports people can claim 40% of their 10 highest earning years over their career when they retire. That's a huge amount of money.
