Don't you mean semi ? Glasgow currently have a 12 point lead over Munster in Conference A.

I thought it was team #2 in conf B plays team #3 in Conf A with the #2 team at home?, and then Glasgow away?

If the league finished now...
We would play Cheetahs at home in the quarter final. The winner would face Glasgow away in the semi final.
Munster would face Edinburgh at home and the winner would face Leinster away in the semi final.

.. then we’d beat Leinster in the final in Dublin

Just clarifying for some ......

3.2.3 The Quarter-Final Matches will be knock-out, each played over one Match:

3.2.3.1 the Club ranked second in Conference A will play at home against the Club ranked third in Conference B (QF1); and

3.2.3.2 the Club ranked second in Conference B will play at home against the Club ranked third in Conference A (QF2).

3.2.4 The winners of the Quarter-Final Matches will proceed to the Semi-Final Matches. The Semi-Final Matches will be knock-out, each played over one Match:

3.2.4.1 the Club ranked first in Conference A will play at home against the winner of QF2; and

3.2.4.2 the Club ranked first in Conference B will play at home against the winner of QF1.

So if we come 2nd in Conf B, we play 3rd in Conf A  (Cheetahs) at PYS. This is QF2. QF2 winner would play Glasgow.

Currently Leinster are 3 pts and 1 win ahead of us with 5 to play. Their pts diff (and I therefore assume tries scored) is vastly superior. So to finish top of conf B, we pretty much need to have more league points than them come 'regular' season end. Though I am not nervous of playing the Cheetahs in Llaneli or Glasgow away, nor finishing top and playing winner of Munster v Edinburgh/Ulster in Llanelli.

In determining where we finish, it may become very tight and these rules apply.

3.1.4 The positions of the Clubs in the Conference Stage will be based on the following, in order:

(a) the number of League Points awarded to each Club;

(b) if unresolved, the number of Matches won by each Club in the League Stage;

(c) if unresolved, the difference between the total points scored and the total points conceded on the field of play for each Club in all Matches in the League Stage;

(d) if unresolved, the number of tries scored by each Club in all Matches in the League Stage;

Added Cardiff Blues to original post, if they can win their next two games it could make their away match to Cheetahs an interesting affair.

They'll be slightly disadvantaged though in the fact they play a Euro QF the weekend before whereas Cheetahs will have a week off.

Interesting few weeks ahead, expecting Edinburgh to close the gap before it widens. Our game up there could be crucial in the hunt for a home QF.

On current form ulster loose to the blues and edinburgh away.

Our game against edinburgh could well be crucial. Im hoping they slip up against conacht or ulster.

Update ahead of the weekend, should Edinburgh beat Ulster and we beat Glasgow at home then we'll be guaranteed 3rd place in the conference at minimum. While a win this weekend is much needed, the big one will be Edinburgh away with it's 8 point swing.

I saw an article earlier saying that Craig Gilroy is being investigated for a WhatsApp message linked to the rape case, and therefore will not be available for selection this week.

Like us, Ulster are running out of backs !

Additionally, Edinburgh beat Ulster at the Kingspan a few weeks ago, so not confident that Ulster will turn them over away from home.

I personally think we’ll beat Glasgow (4 points), BP against Edinburgh (5 points), BP against Dragons (5 points) while Leinster lose to Connacht putting us top of the conference.
Too confident?

Afraid so big ask to get a BP away at Edinburgh away and even to beat Glasgow on Saturday will be a big ask given the way both sides are going and can’t see Connacht turning over Leinster

Our only consolation is that this game is the last chance saloon for Ulster. Another loss and they will be fighting hard for 4th spot. Even so I just cannot see them pulling themselves together this season. I would love to see us win the next two and rest players against the Dragons.
