the region need to stop talking about finances for a while too. its a turn off for many fans and they wont garner much sympathy in a relatively deprived area. better promotion of the lats match and season tickets and more players doing some signings at the shop in the summer could help. also this eistefodd in town in july august is another great opportunity to promote ourselves to 100,000+ people over a week

using twitter and facebook more etc to promote all these events, are we maximizing these outlets?

the valleys cast is attending town this week and people are actually paying £8 for the PRIVELIGE cough cough of metting these beauts. alas the younger generation love a bit of this hype and once it goes VIRRAL then everyone jumps on the bandwagon. It wouldnt surprise me if foxy and rob gog had a pie eating contest at the shop, if it got more online hits than the matches themselves. heck get gypo and easterby to lead a road to ammarrillo march from the shop the the parc....whatever ....if the natives want nonsense , sell nonsense....10 million people watch deadenders every night, if junk sells, sell junkWink

anythings better than rrw and wru squabbling over wonga zzzzzzzz

looking at the results, we've got to remember that we are based in most probably the smallest area (population wise) out of the four regions. but yet we are very close to Blues and Ospreys attendances.
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Final league figures, a strong 9000 last night saw us gain a couple of hundred with Ospreys dropping below the Blues.

Thought Cardiff's away support last night was very good considering the game was a dead rubber.

Blues Dragons Ospreys Scarlets Munster Leinster Ulster Connacht Glasgow Edinburgh Treviso Zebre Season Average
Blues - 10413 10615 12125 6122 5063 7084 6874 5645 7245 6986 7513 7790
Dragons 8526 - 8500 6777 7118 6174 5165 5474 3916 4574 6026 5554 6164
Ospreys 8656 8732 - 13201 5766 8656 10049 6403 5679 8356 5089 6529 7920
Scarlets 9046 6521 14796 - 6487 6329 6506 6111 6504 5675 5847 6708 7321

Not too bad taking into account the population difference compared to the cities.

Obviously most of it isn't, but it does show the impact that dropping to the Challenge Cup has had on Blues figures.

That Blues figure of 5430 against London Irish is strange though, if they had 6267 for Grenoble how have they lost 800 on that when you'd think Irish would bring a decent following down.

I'd say the attendance for our last home match should be the biggest of the lot TBH.

Blues and Ospreys have had quite a large drop off in attendances.

Blues' can be contributed to the competition they're in possibly, but what's the Ospreys excuse??

Blues have almost halved their attendance across the 3 home Europe games.

Thanks to a solid showing on Saturday we managed to increase ours by 1237.

That's the danger of going into the Challenge Cup , there is only really 1 big match and that's when you play the English team . Then you just have to hope you can get a home quarter final to .

If we were to go into the challenge cup it wouldn't be good when trying to increase the attendances

In the interest of fairness I've put the Judgement Day fixtures down as sellouts at the home teams respective grounds, 12k for Blues and 8.5k for Dragons.

A drop of about 250 average in pro 12 with a slight increase in RCC. So roughly 1500 less people through the gates this season overall?

To be honest this has probably been evened out by having so many kids through the doors for tag tournaments, as much as they are probably on a freebee the spend on food/ drink will probably increase.

the judgement day crowd was 52500 so that should really be split 50/50 between ragons and blues counting as a home crowd of 26250 each
