Certainly keeping my fingers crossed he's with us for longer than that.
Another year making it two would be fair enough (not being greedy)

Both Leinster and Munster seem to be stuffed full of high class second row/blind side types. Which is maybe why Ryan has been allowed to move out and Heaslip (an out and out Number 8) has another central contract. We should make Tadhg as good an offer as we can and hope. I was going to compare his situation with that Copeland who looked a future Lion at the Blues but hasn't made a substantial impression at Munster but injuries have set him back alot. However, perhaps there is a lesson there for Tadhg- if you're doing well within a set-up, it may be best to stay there. At least until you're very well established as a top-class player.

Whilst this thread is on the subject of our locks, where does Tom Price sit in the pecking order of Welsh locks? AWJ, Charteris, Jake and Bradley, if fit, are some distance ahead of the rest. Then Howley and Mcbryde seem to place Hill and Thornton as the next level and Tom is not mentioned. Is that fair on Tom? he seems to have become a really hard-working good tight forward.

Tom has a lot of work to do before being considered as a test lock. But at the same time Thornton and especially Hill are no better than him
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

Thanks- that's what I thought. But he is moving in the right direction and he will get stronger. And of the four main locks, only Jake will be around long after the next WC.

Added to boys like Beard struggling to establish themselves out of age grade rugby because of injuries..... (which of course is what Price and Beirne suffered- there's something of a pattern there)
