Very disappointing to see Boyde go but have to allow Moaar to put his own stamp on the squad.

We have seen Pivac really appreciate versatility during his time here - Rawlins, Kennedy, Cummins, Blade etc cover the second row and the back row. Josh MacLeod, Will Boyde can play across the back row. Asquith can cover across the back line. We’ve even seen Ken pack down at 8

Maybe Moaar prefers more specialised back rowers? We’ll see.

Hard on Boyde but you can see we are strong there. Hope he kicks on in England. Ending up at the drags mustn’t be an option.

Exeter would be a good fit for Boyde.

Sam Lousi isn't exactly in that category is he

We’ve had plenty of players who have turned out to be duds.

Are we the only region that have confirmed departures?

Considering we lost Barclay, Beirne, Scott and Aled last season seems like we've done pretty well on the retentions front this season.

Gutted he will be another going to the blues. Only hope he gets into the Wales squad, as if not Exeter or sarries would be way better for him

If we look at it as the squad being the same as this year (except hopefully without as many long term injuries) but with the following swaps

Bulbring replaced by Lousi. On paper an upgrade.
Boyde replaced by Dan Davis. More potential with Dan and a better athlete, but younger and less experienced.
Tom Price replaced by Ed Kennedy. Same as above really.
Dec Smith replaced by Dane Blacker (if rumours are true). Definite upgrade.

So any signings Moaar has lined up should in theory at least add depth if not strength.

I'm not sure we can count Ed Kennedy and Dan Davies as replacement players as they were already on our books and have been called upon many times this season.

I still think we need to add another lock and back row player. Apparently our budget is a million more than the blues, so you would think we have some room for two additional players in the pack. I would also love for us to go for Owen Williams, but can't see this happening.

Our front 5 is the area we need to spend & obviously our much yearned for no 8. Back row should be an area of strength next season with the following :-

6. Aaron, Kennedy, Tom Phillips
7. Cubby, Dan, current under 20's
8. New Recruit, Casseim, McLoud

In addition we have Blade who can cover 6 & 8. McLoud can also cover 7 very effectively. The World Cup obviously throws up planning problems so the earlier we are aware of the lucky 31 the better. If Wyn Jones goes then we a little light at loose head. Next season will be a baptism of fire for Brad Mooar but by all accounts he is a very clever, thoughtful guy who will be nothing if not well prepared for this role.

It is pretty obvious to me that some of our young guns can really push themselves forward - Ioan, Dan & Hardy have all impressed this season & I hope that next season we will see the likes of Conbeer, Baldwin & Tomi Lewis pushing very hard.

Blues have confirmed that Anscombe is leaving. Amos and Henson are leaving the Dragons. Someone has said on here that they don't think Hook will be with the O's next year, and Alex Jeffries has left the O's to join us.

Ed Kennedy isn’t a replacement for Price but you’re spot on with what you’re saying. This is the best retention I can remember
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

I'd also like to see Steff Evans return to form and deal with his defensive issues. His footwork usually sees him get past the first man, sadly however he hasn't top end speed. Perhaps it's a stamina issue, perhaps not. It's definitely something that he look at close season. Good to know he's NOT leaving.

As in all of the departures in an official capacity.

Not yet to my knowledge. Perhaps it shows that we are ahead of the game ?????
