Nice squads - didn't realise RGC fell under our banner now. Interesting opportunity to take a look at Botica.

If you're losing your soul and you know it, then you've still got a soul left to lose.

There's been debate for some time about whether RGC was within Scarlets territory with the general conclusion that we were now independent as a "Development Region".  As such we lose our really good players to the bigger clubs. We lost Olly Cracknell to Gweilch and Rhun Williams went to Blues.  We lost James Lang to Quins last season but one and now the loss of Jacob Botica leaves me with mixed feelings. I am glad for Jake because he is a brilliant 10 and because he is going to a good place (a la his dad) but it leaves RGC with the loss of two excellent 10s in two seasons. Such is pro rugby I guess.  At least we are keeping Tiaan Loots notwithstanding interest from a number of UK concerns.  Good Luck Jacob! (and Scarlets).

I guess the fact Afon Bagshaw isn't there means we have opted not to bring him south. Tidy player imho.

When you consider that there isn't 1 player in the whole of those 2 squads who would be a starting 15 player for the first team, looks good for squad depth.

Jonathan Evans captains the Scarlets, I see. Clap

Had to be him or Bulbring, I guess. Interested to see how Grabham, Conbeer and Asquith go, the props too, and an early chance for Condy to make a mark. Some promising faces in the Prem Select squad, too. Have a good game, all. Thumbs Up

Good to see Condy starting in a game like this- not what you would do if you were nursing a shot knee so perhaps he is now fit....

Jacob is still in RGC for another year, spoke to him about 4 weeks ago,he still is classed as an overseas player,so any region not likely to sign him..He wants to play pro rugby but he sees himself moving maybe to France next year

We can't claim everyone. None of those names are player we would jump via flames for too sign. I am happy with our squad.Other regions recruit players -its just competition.
