Interesting. My mate who is a Ulster follower said McPhilips was injured and their 9 was with Ireland. Must have been released. Seems weird that McCloskey isn't in the Irish squad as well.Could be a tough night.

I pinched that from the Ulster website, though not sure when it was published so there could be changes...
That's the team named on Ultimate Rugby so it seems correct. Hmm

Yes, indeed. Our pack looks competitive - we may get an edge there - but the outside backs are very much lacking in experience compared to Ulster. Still, if they get some decent ball and show no fear, we could still win this. Hard to predict the outcome in these matches.

Their bench looks strong as well, going to be a hard night me thinks.
Be careful when you pick up the stick.........IT MAY BE THE WRONG END!!!!!!!!!!

Blimey I just how Ulster have one of their (too many) nights when they look better on paper than on the pitch.

Tough fixture this.

I hope from 1-10 we can come out on top to control the game and take some presssure off the youngsters.

With McNicholl and Prydie our for the remainder of the season this is a great chance for Nicholas, Baldwin and Tom Williams to stake a claim in our match day 23 for the rest of the season including champions cup, and if he comes on Ryan Conbeer.

Defence will have their hands full, but this sis the sort of fixture that can unearth new important squad players. This time last year and season before, players like Wyn Jones, Will Boyde, Josh Macleod, Jonny Evans etc stuck their hands up.
I have full faith that there will be enough togetherness in the squad to get the win.

If we play like we did v Leinster, we will be ok.

YMLAEN.

Fromt 5 are well matched. Our back row is better.
Strangely on their forum they seem very unconfident. They say their main chance of success is McPhillips staying on, after being in a sling last week. Shame we don’t have Hadleigh to send down his channel this year.
Their back line is experienced and big, but possibly lumbering. Got to turn them with short chips and grubbers behind which hopefully our quicker backs can pick up.
Going to be a tough tough night.

Massive game for us, in context of the season. Would have been excellent if we'd arranged it so that people could watch the Wales game on the big screen in the barn, Llanelli vs Aberavon say on the training pitch (playing on Sunday instead) and then us vs Ulster in the evening, all for the price of a ticket.

Edinburgh secure a BP win against NGD. They are only 3pts behind us now.

I think the crowd will be poor. Lousy kick off time for a Saturday and freezing cold temperatures will keep oldies like myself away. We are four season ticket holders in our seventies and at the moment I'm the only one still considering the risk! 😱
Keep the faith

Lose tonight and our season is over. Edinburgh and Leinster have got easier run ins more importantly during the 6 nations.
