Just read the article on Wales Online about the price of season tickets in the Aviva Premiership and Pro14. The are huge differences between what clubs charge fans for season tickets. On average the aviva clubs charge considerably more than the Pro14 clubs, with the exception of Lienster.
The clubs based in large urban areas, with larger populations are generally more expensive although Worcester and Exeter also charge a lot for season tickets.
Our season tickets are great value on comparison, we have the cheapest tickets in both leagues, with our most expensive tickets costing less than the cheapest at Saracens.
It’s a tricky one for the board, I’m sure they compare prices and any increases in season ticket revenue would benefit the coaches with regards to the squad size or quality of players, but probably fear raising prices too much may lose them more sales.

Been saying this for ages, but it's great that more people can afford a season ticket and are more likely to buy one even if they know that they cannot attend all games. Another good sign is that our most expensive tickets are actually in great demand.

That's a good bit of research - Scarlets operate in an area where average wages aren't high in comparison to many other areas, plus the (town) population is small, though of course the 'region' population is a lot bigger - but only the keener supporters are willing to travel regularly, I suspect.

So all in all, the tickets are good value and realistically priced for Llanelli.

Didn't want to chuck this in a new thread but thought this one might be a good home for it.

Pro 14's homepage has the following stats on their homepage:

The Pro 14 2017/18 season:
Attendances up 10%
A record 861 tries scored
Fastest rucks on club rugby, 81% under 3 seconds
297 international players
46092 record attendance at the final.

I think it is certainly growing the right way as a competition & long may it continue.

Yes, indeed.

I have been quite fed up over the years with all sorts criticising the competition, and especially the unfavourable comparisons with England - it's not as if the English have an outstanding record in the European cup, is it? Much of that hype was down to Sky, IMO, rather than the quality of the product. Even after the English got the qualification rules changed for the RCC, they still could only get one team into the last 8 this year!

Truth is, the three leagues have different characteristics and priorities, but no one league is inherently 'better' than the other two.

Fair comments indeed. Where the pro 14 seems to have an overwhelming edge over the Aviva certainly is the breakdown. Loads of very good 7's abound in the pro 14 but you struggle to find any English qualified breakdown forwards. This has fed through to the National team's inability at the breakdown and is costing them games. I do not understand the love affair of English coaches with Chris Robshaw for instance. A very average No 6 who would not get in to many pro 14 teams yet appears to have been irreplaceable in the England team for the past 4/5 years until the arrival of Shields.
