The Scarlets back-rower, one of the players of the season in Wales in 2017-18, has been told he needs further 'clean-out' surgery on his injured knee and is unlikely to return to action until after the 2019 Six Nations.

Gutted. We really need someone like him back. Our defence and breakdown work have been lacking since his and Cubby’s injuries.
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

Gutting for him, especially with it being World Cup year and competition for back row places being so intense, but where there is loss there is opportunity up to the likes of Boyde, Macloed and Kennedy now to really make that shirt theirs for the rest of the season and beyond.

Not unexpected, and not the end of the world either...having him around a the sharp end of the season will be awesome.

A real pity - we'd have thought that back row would be an area of real strength this year, but injuries have wiped out quite a few of our top players in those positions - and Shingler is the best lineout forward at Scarlets, IMO.
I share no-one's ideas. I have my own.

Disappointing, would’ve been great to get him and Cubby back asap if not only to encourage more competition for the current starting places.

Think Wales could do with him fit for WC warm up and camps as he’s such a valuable line out option.

Absolutely. The enforced absence for what will be 10 months approx might also add to his longevity later on in his career.

At least, I hope so.
Any offence taken on board is only a literate/cy consequence. Every attempt at humour is just that. No personal insult intended. Standards lowered for trolls.
