Looks like a serious injury for steiff could be an ACL injury.

Looked bad - such bad luck. I don't think he'll be playing for a few months.

Hopefully a nasty jar . his leg extended straight didn’t it rather than a twist ? Who knows. Fingers crossed .Another artificial pitch ?

Like finding out your the worlds tallest dwarf type consolation ?

Let’s wait for the scan results, hope it’s just stretched rather than torn ACL. We have 4 guys missing the start of the season right now. Steff is a proven match winner, and would be a huge loss. Fingers crossed.

As for the match . I really feel for guys that get picked in these sorts of games....Wales simply don’t have the right approach to putting out 2nd choice teams, never mind in some cases, 3rd choice. It’s no motivation for a player to get a token run out against either a very motivated Tier 2 country ( like Georgia or teams from the PI’s) or a team that is also trying the same thing.

Careers get stunted or even blown away in such fixtures.

Quite so. But how do you bring players through into international rugby? And actually we did not have many new caps last night. There should have been more cohesion than there was.

The problem with this game, IMO, was the timing - no way should any Scarlets players have been asked to catch a red-eye to the USA immediately after the pro-14 final and asked to play a few short days later. If the team had been composed of players who'd had more time off, it would have been OK...

In a more general way, though, there are simply far too many tests these days - in my young day, Wales played either 4 or 5 tests per season, usually - 4 in the 5 Nations, and sometimes one against a touring team. Once in a while, there was a summer tour. Back then, there was real anticipation in the days leading up to tests - nowadays (I'm not sure if this is typical) I'm pretty indifferent to the AIs and can only feel the old thrill for the 6N and RWC.

I know it's a money thing - far more cash can be made from tests than club fixtures - but surely, it's gone too far? Let's cut back a bit on these fixtures.

Player welfare is of secondary importance to finance unfortunately. No Scarlet player apart from Prydie should have started that game - Wyn & Ryan on the bench not ideal but Hadleigh should not have featured.

Steff's injury is being talked of as hyper-extension which hopefully isn't as bad as ligament damage.

Well you could start by playing matches in the designated International windows and not flogging players who have spent the latter part of the season playing in semi finals and cup finals.

If it is his cruciate that has gone (and that is being reported by some on social media) then I will flip the next time I see the WRU talking about player welfare.. Player Welfare? Do me a [beep]ing favour AngryAngryAngry

Gatland should be sacked for player endangerment, no way should Steff have played this game outside the window as well.

The way Steff jinks back and fore he may never be the same with an injury like this

Hoping it's not too bad a bit worried about Prydie too. Looking like we should have kept hold of Tom Williams. Perhaps if our budget was not so tight we would have.
