Something like:-

15- McNicholl
14- Tom Williams
13- Asquith/Steff
12- Parkes
11- Prydie
10- Patch (didnt play in summer surely he'll be available)
 9- Johnny/Aled
 8- Boyde
 7- Cubby
 6- Rawlins
 5- Beirne
 4- Jake
 3- Samson
 2- Emyr
 1- Rob Evs

Pack should be particularly strong. Thoughts?

I believe that the lions players have an 8 week rest?? If so that takes us through to 2nd sept since the last test was on the 8th July. Does this mean 1/2 being available, especially as he had limited game time on tour. Appreciate the need for pre-season but if we could select Leigh for the first home game along with us having the trophy then I'd expect a bumper crowd, surely something to target??

Spoke with Ken Owens last week. He said that he was given a break of 3 weeks during pre-season and then he'd be back in training ready for the friendlys. Don't know about the other Wales players or the Lions, but that was the schedule for Ken.
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

Need to start off better prepared than last season. Full side including JD if allowed to play him. The Welsh tour was only two games long, so all the Scarlets tourists should be available for selection. This opener will attract viewers from UK and South Africa and we need to put a marked down. I would imagine all the squad will be chomping at the bit to play in this historical fixture. We also need to ensure the stadium is full and bouncing.

Play some of our tourists for the first game and rest them for the game against Zebre, and vice versa.
I'd also be keen to play as much experience as possible against a relatively unknown entity.
15 McNicholl 14 Prydie 13 Parkes 12 Scott 11 Steff 10 Patch 9 Jon
8 Boyde 7 Cubby 6 Shingler 5 Beirne 4 Ball 3 Kruger 2 Elias 1 Wyn
16 Emyr 17 Rob (fit?) 18 Samson 19 Bulbring 20 Macleod 21 Aled 22 Dan 23 Steff Hughes

What is the status with regards the availability of players at the start of the season? I understand that the lions need a longer break but surely their participation in the tour would affect their availability? Surely halfers would be available before fox for example? Also are all the Welsh tourists given extra time off?
History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.

Pretty sure I heard Pivac stating that the players who toured with Wales will be available.

I'd go for:

14. Tom Williams
13. Scott Williams
12. Hadleigh Parkes
11. Steff Evans
10. Rhys Patchell
9. Gareth Davies
8. John Barclay (C)
7. Cubby
6. Aaron Shingler
5. Tadhg Beirne
4. Jake Ball
3. Samson Lee
2. Ryan Elias
1. Rob Evans
16. Emyr phillips
17. Wyn Jones
18. Werner Kruger
19. David Bullbring
20. Will Boyde
21. Jonny Evans
22. Dan Jones
23. Tom Prydie

The names in bold only returned to training today. Is 4 weeks enough to sort out match fitness? I'd guess so but I actually have no idea.

What is for sure is that we can't go into the season half cocked like we did last year though can't see Pivac letting that happen again.
She asks why i still can't answer. I guess its in the blood.
