Recently our regional rivals have developed a simple game plan against us. Kick and chase for territory and watch us try to pass and off-load our way back up field as they apply an effective rush defence (which frequently managed to turn us over).
This season we have more forward power (when they are all available) and we have tried to use more variety in the way we use the ball, mixing a kicking game with our passing game, scoring some nice tries with chips and grubber kicks. This despite the loss of most of our experienced backs, but considering this we've done remarkably well, even if unable to score a whole lot of tries. Unfortunately two of the most important will still be out for a lot longer, with Patchell being a key loss and we will need well thought out game plans to put maximum pressure on our regional opponents in the coming derbies.

Good points - I'm pretty hopeful going into these games following our early season form, but certainly not over-confident - derbies can be funny games.
I share no-one's ideas. I have my own.

Our early season form has been pretty average.  We've scrapped hard to get our wins and lost away from home very badly to Edinburgh and Ulster.  The derby games will require more discipline and accuracy from us than we have demonstrated so far this season.
Keep the faith

Can't argue with that summation. Much will depend on how quickly Brad re-integrates his Internationals. Our lineout seems to have improved this season ( from a very low point last season I would admit) but our scrum, which has been a weapon in the past, is struggling just to stay the right side of the ref. If that doesn't improve and become a weapon again we are going to be in trouble as we don't have a stellar attacking backline to get us out of trouble.

The regional derbies will tell us a lot of how good we can be - a side along the likes of :-

15. Halfpenny 14. Jonny 13. Fonotia 12. Hadleigh 11. Steff 10. Dan 9. Cawdor
1. Wyn 2. Ken 3. Samson 4. Jake 5. Tex 6. Aaron 7 McLeod 8. Casseim

16. Ryan 17. Rob 18. Werner 19. Sam 20. Blade 21. Hardy 22. Lamb 23. Steff Hughes/Bladwin

should be in with a decent shout at winning all three games & getting us in the last 8 of the Challenge Cup.

I've got that down for Saturday. Of course don't mind if we do it for the rest of the years's fixtures as well.

Anyone watching the Ospreys game, who's the Kiwi commentator ? Sounds a bit like Parkes , definitely sounded like they were involved with the Scarlets going by what the conversation was . ??

Great result for the Dragons 25-16 against Worcester. They seem to be on the up.
