Pack looks strong again and Gareth will make (m)aule the difference to our backs IMO.

Conditions in Galway are usually a good test for a team's tactical kicking game so will be a tough one for the Dans but I'm sure if we get the forward dominance we should that'll take a load of pressure off them. Plus they've had a nice practice in the wind and rain from last sunday already. Connaught not to be underestimated and we've a pretty poor record over there so I would take a win however we can get it.

Maule and Tipuna are big pluses in the backline, and will add some experience and grit.

Where is Fenby and Gareth Davies?

Gareth is with Carms Quins squad this week...pretty sensible in as much as we have Tipuna, Rhodri, Justin and aled involved with the Scarlets/RFC this week and given his groin injury needs monitoring closely.
Fenby unknown but must be a tweek I hope as he finsihed the game last week.
Excellent to have Maule back.

Congrats to Liam Williams - great to see another young lad blooded in the first team.

Starting too think Lou might be benching as a directive from the WRU as he may be cover for the RWC squad?

The website says that Fenby has a 'minor groin strain' - sounds ominous!! I'm worried about our back 3 now.

Great to see Tipuna and Maule available though. I'm hoping Gareth can make a big difference and at least add a bit of physicality to the backline.

The persistence with Dom and Shingler in the row seems strange, I don't think either of them had particularly strong games last week and Connacht will prove a tougher test up front.

No Damien Welch again, what was the point of giving him a contract when we need cover in the second row and playing Josh there when we all know Josh is so much better in the backrow?!!!

Josh is playing in the back row.

The reality is that there are 3 second row places in a matchday squad and we have 4 front line second rows. 3 into 4 doesn't go someone has to miss out and at the moment for whatever that is Welch.

All these comments about 'why bother giving him a contract' are garbage. We gave him a contract because he's a decent player, cheap and you need 5 frontline second rows in a squad. When everyone's fit someone has to miss out, if Day was the person not being picked then I doubt anyone would be saying why bother giving him a contract....

I'm sure Welch will get an opportunity soon!

I rate Damien Welch and was pleased when his contract was renewed but why isn't he being picked for the Scarlets as apparently he was the standout player at Llandovery last week! Looking forward to seeing Damien playing for the Scarlets during the season!

Isn't Damien playing at 8 for the Drovers? Much talk of back up 8's is he that option perhaps, hence why he is not involved as lock?

Would explain Timane's signing perhaps!
