Just incredible. Good on them for the statement. What a sorry state of affairs.
Every stakeholder (Sponsors, broadcasters and businesses) needs to realize the importance of this continued failure to come to a conclusive agreement. |

Sh!t am I reading that wrong, or does it look like the regional boards are looking at closing up shop?

No. Just on their own The Boards of all four Regions must now urgently consider the stark practical consequences of operating within a business model that does not include any form of agreement with the WRU outside IRB regulations and no WRU support or involvement in the development of Professional Regional Rugby. |

the way im reading it is that the four regions will continue without WRU funding. this means, the wage cap will be dropped to something sustainable to the regions, star players certainly will not be held onto, and qualification for the RC will be practically impossible. unless four regions help out eachother with more loan signings. failure to do any of those things could very well mean closing up shop whilst they still do have the heavy trump card, no matter how fair or unfair on the players, ANY game outside IRB window, players will not be available.
Then it leaves of course not being a team supported by wru...will the players that play for the region be able to play international rugby????

We'll just have to charge the WRU £40,000 for each player for each week that we are allowing the WRU to use them.

It's abundantly clear that Roger Lewis must go, and must go now.
His leadership has failed. He's a tyrant out of control with no interest in Welsh rugby beyond what he can get out of it. It's a huge national embarrassment and a totally shameful state of affairs.

No player release deal outside the IRB test windows for one. So no 4th AI Roger Bowl against the South Africans unless they play the Pontypridd team and Warburton. |

Do we now have to release the players for any games as there is no agreement?

Yes, for the the IRB window (6Nations and 3 AIs) I don't think there's June tests next year because of the world cup |
