And what happens during the 6 nations? We're in an International window Saf isn't. Indeed what happens with the rugby seasons? Theirs is different to ours and for a reason too- it would be hot in Bloemfontein in January- not so bad in Port Elizabeth.

Sounds a great idea but there are alot of details to be ironed out.

Sounds like a desperate idea dreamt up by someone involved with a failed structure in South Africa that's trying to justify their job. The issues you hilight jus add to the argument not to take it seriously

Does it? Realistically the best thing we could do over the next few years is enter a British League minus the Italians and including the 4 Welsh, 4 Irish, 2 Scots, 12 English in the top league and 2 more from the Championship- London Irish and the Cornish Pirates (with their new stadium) maybe?
Split that into two tiers with two relegations and promotions each year.
Then maybe a third tier with English Championship teams, Regional A teams, and Irish A teams?

Even grander than that 😉

Toulon had half their quad in the Central Travelodge the last time we played them !
There are many things different about Toulon. Staying and training in the area for about 3 days being another, on their previous visit. Good on 'em.
Any offence taken on board is only a literate/cy consequence. Every attempt at humour is just that. No personal insult intended. Standards lowered for trolls.

It'd mean the PRO12 would have to give all clubs equal and better balance of home and away scheduling than they've been capable of/willing to do so far.

Let's see what happens.
You may have to get booked up in The Sessile Oak nice and early Steve if there are 23 plus burly Safas going to arrive on their away fortnight! The battle for breakfast buffet could be interesting as well!! Wink
They'll be staying somewhere far grander!

Apparently would be looking at a conference based system so less games for everyone.

I'm sure that there are plenty of exiles out there to offer some support for the away teams.

I think that sentence sums up the Pro12 for me. It truly is the AirB&B of rugby leagues.

Two long-haul trips for each Pro12 team might be feasible, although cramming them into an already over-crowded schedule seems impractical, but think of the travel for the 2 SA teams - they'd have to be desperate (and have an airline ready to sponsor them) to make it happen, not a the best position to make a sound commercial decision, perhaps.

Sounds like McKeever is flying a kite in the short window of opportunity before Cheetahs & S Kings are disbanded - interesting to see if the will (& money) is there to overcome the obvious challenges with the concept.

How on earth Welsh rugby stacks this sort of globalisation up against sorting out player career pathways in the villages and run down economically towns in Wales escapes me! Confused
This sort of globalisation could help pay for that
True , if the TV money stacks up but it is such a cobbled up thing compared to the English league with clubs playing within 50- 250 miles of each other whilst Pro 12 brigade are travelling huge distances. Anyway let's see what happens. All options are worth looking at.
