Yes that was in Rugby Paper I believe few weeks back along with Alex Jeffries, tighthead from the Ospreys. (though nothing official in rugby paper about those).

He has 6 months & a couple of weeks left on his deal.

Not what he told me. End of next season. I trust his version.

Every media outlet is end of October

see the fourth paragraph

Apologies, every one I'd seen said it ends after the RWC.

Well you got that bit right !LOLLOLLOL

it was said here that the huge news won't be until end of the season.

Got a sneaking suspicion that was a wind up. We'll wait and see.

An on-form Anscombe is probably better than an off-form Patchell, but there's no guarantee how long that would last for, and as others have said, Anscombe is almost certain to be away for a major part of next season while at the same time demanding a huge part of our recruitment budget -no thanks. In fact it's a mystery how the Ospreys (who were in such a financial picil a couple of months ago that they were willing to call for an amalgamation with their worst enemies) can afford such an extravagance.
What we really need is a reasonably experienced 10 with the ability to run a varying game even with the slow service that he could get here and whose ego would not be hurt by playing second fiddle to Patch for most of the season.

I think it's been proven fairly conclusively that the Ospreys finances were not as dire as portrayed in the media.

Ultimately thought its about benefactors, and in Rob Davies, should he wish to, the O's have one with very very deep pockets.

Owen Williams would be an interesting option.

Which leads to the question as to why the O's approached us for a merge ? Every party bar the O's have agreed that they approached us, and the Blues confirmed that they approached them.

Going forward though, aren't the O's going to have to pay £1 million per season to play t=at the Liberty ?

Bit of a mystery to me.

You need to remove this post. We pay £50k per year and £5 per seat/ticket sold. Where the £1m figure has come from is ludicrous and can only be described as a malicious untruth.
I trust you have been in touch with paul rees at the guardian?LOLLOLLOLLOL

Excellent news on Dan Davis. An extremely bright prospect who has international potential. Seems like he is boydes replacement on the books.
