Barry took too long in deciding on signing for us (he said that in the press) - saying it his own fault.

Club withdrew contract as he took too long and at same time has a rethink over finances

Lets move away from this blame game, take the chips off our shoulders and move on - Barry has.

He has not signed for us for various reasons and now has a region - ok it may be the O's - but good luck to Bazza.   Rather see him at a region than not playing at all.

Good Luck Bazza. I would have liked to see you back in Scarlet, and if not then anywhere but the Ospreys, but Hey ho, it's all in the game.

Just hope we don't have the injuries we had last year
We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

Just to clarify, when you say press release, are you talking about the interview Barry did in the SWEP or something that's come from the club?

I'm not sure why this would be the case. If we signed Barry it would ultimately have meant leaving either Dan Evs or Stoddart out of the team and I think they both deserve their chance to shine. At the end of the day Barry made his decision to leave us and wasn't even committed enough to sign for us as soon as he was given the offer.

Personally I think he is making a huge mistake with regards his career. He won't be picked ahead of Byrne in any major game and in 2 years time there will probably be a development FB coming through the ranks and keeping him out.

A great player but simply not what we (or the O's for that matter) need at the moment. The only diference is they throw cash at having excess players in positions, we can't.

History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.

Couple of related points: rugby is a squad game and Barry's signing would have increased the strength of it. Also, morgan's injury record in particular is terrible and so Barry would have had many opportunities.

I'm not saying Barry is the signing we wanted and as you say he didn't sign when given the chance but you can't ignore we're looking weak in the back three at the moment.

I'm happy to see how Dan Evans gets on don't get me wrong but you always need a mix of young talent and experience in the squad. There will be a lot on his shoulders next season.

we are looking weak everwhere compaired with the Ashtrays and it looks like we have blown the money on players who are not good enough Rhys Thomas cant scrumage Pugh is an Ashtrays cast off who was playing lower legue in England Maule wasnt good enough for the Dragons and that leaves Lamont who is an international but not the best he will make the back 3 a bit better but our pack is not good enough and will be a pushover we needed at least 1 and better still 2 international secund rowers etc etc
All we have got are kids who might be good enough in 3 years but in 3 years we could have been wiped off the face of the earth by every team in europe and that wo'nt do anything for the kids why would they want to stay at a club who are getting murdered we will loose all our young talented players to better teams if we do'nt strengthen now! And do'nt say to me about Man U winning things with kids we have not got rugby players as good at rugby as Giggs etc were at foot ball you can not make the comarison and it is not a joke.  This is not good enough from the management.

I am snedds, but a lot of what he has said makes sense. if the region hasnt got the finances, they should just tell us that its the end of recruitment for this year and leave it at that. we will know what state we are in.
i have a lot of confidence in the young players coming through and with a couple more good signings we could be a genuine force (even with nigels coaching).
i would have liked barry back with us, but if the money is not there its not there even if barry wanted less than the original contract.

If we had used our nwq places already, i would agree. But theres no way we are going to leave these three places open , epecially after fighting for extra nwq places last year. I say wait until the lions and tri nations are over , then we'll hear something im sure

According to Andrew Hore they signed him as cover for full back and the wing. He'll get plenty of chances to start the beginning of the season with Lee Byrne, Tommy Bowe and Shane Williams not playing and also when those are away for international duty. Obviously invaluable bench cover when they are playing. So a wise move for him really.

I will beleve it when i see it we have been cutting the wage bill like mad and we have not got enough money for good signings. They have wasted out money again and I have been saying what turkish rebel said - they have to honest with us not making up stories like we had a few weeks back. it is very suspisius that Braid and Jane and Waugh did'nt sign and neither did Barry I do'nt trust what they ar etelling us. This team is not good enough and we all now it at and they have wasted our money on players who are not good enough and who play in the psitions we do'nt need as much as others. at least if they told us there was not enough money we woudl now where we stand. more bad management yet again we have had years and years of it.
The Ashtrays have got 5 players in the Lions team and could have had more if Hook was not injured and Shane Williams had got more ball. Including ryan Jones they have had 8 in the Lions squad and if Henson was fit he might have gone and that makes 9. Wellies is great but we all know that even though Matthew Rees is good he's not brilliant and there are not many goodf hookers around which is the only reason he went. How amany other Lions standard players have we got? the Ashtrays have got plenty. It makes me sick. I am not expecting us to buy everyone in the All Balcks team but I want some honesty.

What story did they make up a few weeks back?

As for the players you mention, Braid got injured, Jane was a rumour started online that the WM/BBC ran with and Waugh was asking for silly money when we spoke to him a few months back.

You also need to stop comparing us with the Ospreys all the time.  We're miles off them at the moment, so crying whenever they make a signing does nobody any good.

We all just need to accept where we are at the moment.  We're building for the future so expecting immediate success is unrealistic.
