Ex scarlet player and founder/owner of specsavers, Douglas perkins did a tour of wales recently and was photographed with tavis knoyle discussing his love of the scarlets...

He is officially Wales' richest man with a mere £1.15 billion in his bread basket...he lives in Guernsey but his 1000+ stores are across the UK and mainland europe...So hes passing through a lot...Have we ever tried to get Mr Perkins on board? If not , why not? The man is very patriotic and even packed down in the LLanelli second row back in the day! Worth a phone call, Im sure any input from him would be greatly appreciated by the board.

He's lost nearly 300 million in a year! Funding us would be a picnic in comparison!

p.s. it would be astounding if a man who had declared his love of the scarlets and was pictured with tavis knoyle had not been approached about sponsoring the scarlets.

It would make sense, wouldn't it?

Let's hope the charming Tavis manages to persuade him to sign up!
