5p for a PAPER bag, not a carrier bag, but a paper bag..

now I agree with the legislation regarding plastic bags, but I feel that those robbing fatherless people at McDonalds Trostre have jumped onto the bandwagon and used the legislation to increase profits..

I refused to pay the 5p so didn't get a bag, but they bagged up my fries anyway.....

go figure....

rant over...

If my wife or kids are with me they bring the eco friendly bags but paying 5p doesn't bother me.

for plastic bags yes agree, this legislation was brought in due to the issue of plastic bags being non degradable, but paper bags I think not...

Indeed. Or it could buy a bag for him to asphyxiate himself? He has apparently expressed a wish to die, just creating conversation like.

I've got a standing order with my bank to take money for a cancer charity.

I didn't realise they only gave to that?

Sal's point is a valid one too.

Definitely. And "ethical trading" is becoming more and more important - everyone, including McDonald's, is trying to jump on this bandwagon because to fail to do so is business suicide.

So this will probably result in superficial and slightly odd-sounding schemes like this one but, despite that, I think the overall concept is a good one and charging for plastic is a good idea, which I'm surprised it's not been introduced in England yet. Credit to Wales that you have it.
