We've gone backwards cos Jac isn't playing? Are you [beep]ing serious? He's played one meaningful game and we've gone backwards since Pivac had the Wales job

Jac has played more than that Henry Winkler! I think from now one it's becoming more obvious that a 7 and a 6 needs to be competitive, dynamic, aggressive and skilful, just look at Underhill and Curry with England. I'd go as far as saying those two, and that duo have changed things when it comes to the work of a 6 and 7. Botham, last night, put a shift in which nobody in our back row could deal with.

I believe, if they had been fit Josh and Jac would have dealt with Botham, as they are similar in their physique and style. When Jac had been in that back row we've been competitive at the break down, he's put in more tackles than anyone else in the team and has added to the balance of our backrow. If all our back row were fit my first choice would be 8 - Sione 7 - Josh and 6 - Jac with Blade moving to 2nd row alongside Jake.

Jac's performance against Underhill at Bath was one of the best performances by a Scarlets player this season. Hands down! Jac is the new type of flanker the game is moving towards. In all our best performances this season he has started.

Everyone has a right to an opinion Henry Winkler and I truly believe in this.

Jac has played more than one meaningful game! Every league game counts!

Of course you have a right to your opinion Gorau thats what this site is about. As for your selections I see some issues - firstly Blade is no 2nd row. Botham made him look like a rag doll at times and I would want more power from my 2nd row. Secondly its all well and good going for that scavenging back row mix but where is our lineout ball coming from? England get away with it mainly because they have Itoje and a hooker who hits his men. At the Scarlets for seasons now we have not had a reliable lineout. Opposition now that if they target Aaron or Blade, our main targets, they will get results and Ken/Ryan are not reliable.

Just checked those stats Tumble 2017/18 1st, 2018/19 3rd, 2019/20 12th, 2020/21 11th. A steady decline which has a lot to do, in my humble opinion, with the fact that Aaron has hardly played.

Good point BPR. Sione is used in the line out isn't he? If Aaron returns then I'd swap him for Blade.

People are acting as if the Scarlets will implode as an entity if Jac leaves. There’s nothing that can be done. It’s happened before and it’ll happen many, many more times again.

Everyone is expecting the old Aaron to return. That might not be the case. Look at Foxy. Aaron had a seriou knee injury and the muscular problems. That will impact his ability to rise to the high standards he set when fully fit. Hopefully im wrong and the old Aaron will return. Until then blade will do a very good job for us.
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

We’ve hit the nail on the head here.  We have to accept that some of our players are no longer capable of reaching the highs of past seasons.
Foxy is a prime example of this, Ken has played his first match since September and (just like Elias) failed to hit his man on an attacking 5 metre lineout.  Shingler (without a shadow of a doubt our best lineout option over the past decade) has missed so much rugby over the past 18 months or so, there’s no gaurantee that he will ever return to anything like the player he was.
The board and coaches need to accept this and have a plan in place to deal with this.

Aaron is 33, It will be amazing if he regains his form of two years ago. Hope I'm completely wrong though..

What's the latest with Lewis Rawlins? I feel we've missed him as well.

I agree at 33 and after the injury problems he has had. What he will do is do the best he can in a Scarlets shirt, which is a mindset that a few appear not to have in the last month.
