Spot on Legend. When you bring a top professional into an organisation the very minimum you can do is respect their considered opinion. As a top professional Ms Blanc is used to being listened to and also used to having her considered opinions either followed or proven, with a weight of argument, to be incorrect. There is nobody working for the WRU who would get close to carrying a member of the BP board's briefcase let alone be appointed to it. Therein lies the continuing problem with Welsh rugby. Keep making 3rd rate appointments & you get 3rd rate performance.

It’s clear as day, the WRU is an archaic organisation which hates any change, they can’t even cope with having a female on the board. It’s not fit for purpose, it still lives in the age of the dinosaurs and will never change, as change would require members to vote for changes which will affect their amateur clubs (it would require turkeys to vote for Christmas).
Amanda Blanc is better out of it, although I would have preferred for her to stay. BP will show her the respect that her business acumen deserves. I’m embarrassed to be a welsh rugby fan with the way our union is run and the way their aims and objectives (and ways to achieve them) seem to be poles apart from those of the regions (who are the key part to achieving those aims and objectives).

Just checked her CV and further appointments made to her. She is obviously seriously sought after in the business world . Such a shame that a Woman and indeed a Welsh woman who is a Welsh rugby supporter left the WRU. We are still none the wiser about the truth behind her departure and the WRU regime just carries on.

Didn't she resign? And given the £6.9 billion quarterly profits i doubt the wages are that shoddy.

Amanda Blanc appointed to the board of BP. Not good enough for the WRU though, They have a retired Geography teacher in charge.

Get a properly structured fixture list whereby we get a home fixture every other weekend. ( like English Premiership do) Then the fans can plan ahead and visiting Y Parc becomes a habit not a lottery.

For me the largest challenge in Welsh rugby is “how do we get 8-10k rugby fans turning out to watch professional rugby games every week”
Whoever can solve that problem will have “saved welsh rugby” imo.

No secret sauce there.
Saying ‘the womens game needs proper investment’ is the only ‘policy response’ I see in that statement but it’s nothing revolutionary. Would like to know if there was anything she pushed for that was ignored or rejected, but it sounds more of what more educated posters on here have been saying for a decade, amateurs in charge of a 100m business.

Amanda Blanc (born 1967) is a Welshbusinesswoman who is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Aviva since July 2020.[1] She was previously CEO EMEA & Global Banking at Zurichand Group CEO AXA UK, PPP & Ireland at Axa. The first woman to chair the Association of British Insurers[2] and a past president of the Chartered Insurance Institute, she holds a number of non-executive roles .
And on the other side of the table is Geography Bob the retired school teacher… She stood no chance! 🤨

Next year? Bit of a long game that isn’t it? Tbh as depressing as this sounds. She is just going to confirm what we all know , possibly with some sexism and mysgony thrown in, which will surprise no one and alter nothing

No real bombshell news just what most of us have stated for many years. A £100m organisation run by amateurs. She was at pains to differentiate her experiences of the PRB & WRU which again says it all.

We had a lucky escape. Aviva were a bigger mess of an organisation than the WRU.
