Neath recruit Mefin Davies can concentrate solely on playing rugby thanks to a sponsorship deal with former Warriors chief Leighton Samuel.

I find this hard to take

Clearly please for Mefin as a quality player but Samual put him in this situation to start with.

Read this report on Ceefax a while back, think Samuel said he sponsored Mefin because "I am a nice guy". (Samuel's words about himself)
"I can't see the Germans getting back into this...they've only got Kuntz up front..."
(Alan Hansen, during Euro 96).

I think he's trying to make himself popular again - but fighting a losing battle. On top of this he's invested a "5 figure sum" into Pontypridd Football Club!! Which has only made my Ponty fan friends even more mad with him.
The guy's a nutter.

He more or less puts an end to the Regional side for Pontypridd RFC then he goes and puts money into the club side which was one of the feeder clubs

He is either on drugs or a complete and utter nutter

He's invested the cash into the town's FOOTBALL club - which is even more bizarre! They play in some local South Wales league and have average crowds of 50-100.
Just his way of showing his middle finger to the Ponty public.

Soz misunderstood there but could have sworn some one told me he had invested inthe rugby side. We'll go with your version Taff - makes more sense in Samual's world
